Hey galpals and happy Tuesday! Good golly I can’t even believe that Christmas is this week! I have to admit that Christmas and the act of gift giving has slipped my mind a bit this year. I’ve been devoting all of my energy into our big day (our wedding on 12/31, if you’re new here!), so sadly this holiday has taken a backseat. Truly the only gift I’m giving this year is to my dad, because his birthday is on Christmas Eve! The 24th of December has to be hands down one of my favorite holidays because it’s the day when all of my family and our family friends gather to feast on the yummiest ham, my mom’s homemade (from scratch) baked potato soup, the best red wine, and my dad’s famous chocolate & peppermint martinis! My sister and I still open our stockings that evening and “A Christmas Story”aka the Leg Lamp movie marathon is running on repeat. And one of my favorite Christams traditions is setting up the Nativity scene. To this day, I have the fondest memories of hanging the Northern Star in the entry way and then placing baby J in the manger before we went to sleep. So while the gift giving may be on the back-burner this year, the reason for the season and our nearest & dearest holiday/family tradition is certainly not!
