Hi babes and happy Monday!  How was your weekend?  Yesterday morning I had the awesome opportunity to speak at a conference for women physicians from all across the country and my heart is feeling so full!  I was so humbled that they asked me to come and speak about my journey, to share how to effortlessly dress for success, and the 6 items every woman needs in her closest.  And let me tell you, seeing a room full of smart, beautiful, and motivated women who juggle their careers, families, households, and a million other things; well that is contagious and I feel so inspired to kick butt this week!

I love sharing my tips & tricks to make getting dressed in the morning that much easier, and one of the items I swear by the most is a kimono!  You girls know I’m a sucker for a duster cardigan or kimono because there’s just so much goodness packed into one piece!

Instant Glam & Drama.  The longer hem takes an otherwise basic layer to a totally different level!  Who doesn’t love a little train action?!

The longer length acts like a built-in blanket.  It covers your legs and arms when you’re freezing cold in restaurants but is still a cool, light weight layer that you can wear for brunch or happy hour on the patio outside!

Kimonos are a great way to add color or prints to your outfit.  I love the bold florals on this green one.  But if you aren’t comfortable making a loud statement, then start small with a pretty color or a subtle print!

Kimonos are dressier than a knit sweater.  I love wearing cutoff shorts but sometimes they are a bit too casual to be worn solo for certain occasions or establishments.  That’s why I pair a long kimono with my shorts and tanks, as the kimono covers the back of my legs and gives me some arm coverage!

Wearing a kimono is the perfect way to transition from Summer to Fall.  It’s not quite sweater weather yet, but it’s also not warm enough to just wear a tank top.  Wearing a kimono over your tank top and swapping out the shorts for skinny jeans is a great way to dip your toe into Fall without looking appropriate for the season and you won’t overheat!

I’ve been on a huge green kick lately and I’m just crushing on all things green for Fall!  This long kimono from Jess Lea Boutique has stolen my heart and I’ve had so much fun wearing it this past month since getting it.  Not only do I love it with white jeans and a black peplum tank, but I’ve also worn it with jean shorts and a white tee, as well as black skinny jeans and a blush cami tank!  This kimono is the perfect piece for getting us from Summer to Fall and it’s an extra 10% off with shopping treat SABBYSTYLE!
