Hi sweet friends and happy humpday!  I cannot believe that it’s the last day of January – 2018 is already flying by!  And that means Valentine’s Day is just two weeks away!  No matter what the holiday is, I love to plan out my festive looks, but especially when it comes to Valentine’s Day!  I think the colors pink and red have something to do with that haha.  Over the next two weeks I’ll be bringing you a variety of Valentine’s Day or Date Night outfit ideas – from casual to dressy, so you have some outfit ideas, no matter how you choose to celebrate the holiday.  And all of these looks would be great for Galentine’s Day, too!  Because whether you’re celebrating with a significant other or your Gal Gang, a girl has every right to look fabulous and feel confident, right?!

Today I’ve teamed up with Gordmans to bring you two looks that would be perfect for a snazzy V-day dinner date; featuring a black off the shoulder dress and a bold red drop waist dress with ruffle hem!  I’m equally obsessed with both of these little numbers – the black dress fits like a glove and the red dress brings the flirt with that ruffle detail.  Pink and Red are quintessential Valentine’s Day colors and to put my own personal spin on the looks, I opted for fun jackets and sexy heels!  It’s always fun to get something new for a special occasion or holiday, but it’s definitely not fun to break the bank.  I love that I was able to get the little black dress, red dress and black tassel earrings for less than $60!  Both dress are ones that will stand the test of time in my closet and are great classic pieces to have.  You can style the OTS black dress a 1,000 different ways for a variety of occasions and for all four seasons!  The red dress is obviously perfect for Valentine’s Day, but would also be a fabulous option for a Holiday party or gathering and is most certainly office appropriate!  You can also wear the red dress all year long, as well.  Simply add black tights and black booties or boots for Winter and ditch the jacket when warmer temps roll around!

LOOK #1 – BLACK DRESS + PINK HEELS

If I HAD to choose which outfit was my favorite, I would probably pick this one, because not gonna lie, I feel pretty darn confident in this dress!  I’ve said time and time again that off the shoulder dresses are uber flattering and this one is no exception.  The big bell sleeves take this dress up a notch and the subtle slit gives it just the right amount of sexiness.  I’m partial to this dress because I’m able to highlight my favorite features (at the moment), which are my legs and shoulder/clavicle area!  This look might be a bit more edgy than something I would typically wear, especially with the faux leather moto jacket, but the pink heels and dainty earrings add a feminine touch!

LOOK #2 – RED DRESS + LEOPARD JACKET

I’ve mentioned before that up until last year, I reserved the color red only for Husker Football Saturdays and Christmas.  And it wasn’t until this past Fall that I began to embrace this color on me!  I must be making up for lost time because in just the past month or so I’ve added three red pieces to my wardrobe.  I fell in love with this dress right when I spotted it!  Not only is the color bold and vibrant (not all reds are created equal), but the darling ruffle hem was just the right touch!  This is a very classic, feminine dress with a flattering drop waist cut and has a great fit.  And while it’s a fabulous piece, I wanted to jazz it up just a tad for Valentine’s Day inspiration!  So I added my favorite leopard bomber – that’s on sale btw! – and embellished heels.  I typically opt for nude shoes, as they make my legs look longer, but I love the way the black heels made this outfit pop.  I bought these shoes from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale last year and they are SO comfy!  And I’m happy to report that they are now on major sale, too!
