Three Spring Looks for Work + Play from LOFT at Village Pointe

Hi friends and happy Tuesday!  I’m so happy that tomorrow is the first day of Spring, so to celebrate, I’m back at it with Village Pointe to bring you girls a dose of Spring fashion!  I’ve received quite a few requests to share some workwear inspiration, so for this 3-Look Series, I wanted to highlight an office-appropriate ensemble, as well as include other pieces that can be worn to work and when you’re off duty!  All of these outfits are from LOFT at Village Pointe, and if you weren’t aware, they are having a huge SALE right now!  The entire store is currently 50% off through TONIGHT, so be sure to snag these versatile Spring pieces before the sale is over!  Good things come to those who wait…. unless it comes to sale shopping haha!

Keep reading for outfit breakdowns and direct links to shop! xoxo

I’m starting with my favorite look out of the three; this fun and flirty workwear combo!  When I worked outside of the home, I had so much fun creating bold and unique outfits that were not only office-appropriate, but also expressed my personal style and personality!  I remember the day I went in for my final internship interview during my last semester of Graduate School in 2013… it was a predominantly-male environment and the only two females in the office were wearing very drab and ill-fitting black pantsuits.  So on the morning of my first day, I too, pulled out the few pieces of black clothing I owned and headed to work.  And I felt sad!  I shouldn’t have to dress like a man to be taken seriously!  *** Note – I’ve seen a lot of fabulous black pantsuits and the women who wear them absolutely rock them; they’re just not for me *** And from that moment, it was my mission to create ensembles that, of course met all employee dress code standards, but that also made me feel confident and empowered!  So I went and found budget-friendly pieces and the next day I put together a really cute outfit.  In fact, I loved it so much that I snapped a bathroom mirror picture and posted it to my Instagram.  Unbeknownst to me, that low quality iPhone picture changed the trajectory of my life!

So in going back to my roots, I opted to pair this gorgeous leopard blouse with a green tweed flippy “mini” skirt!  I put quotes around the word mini because that is the skirt category on the LOFT website, but this skirt hits right above my knee and definitely passed the fingertip test!  Green is a huge color-trend happening right now and the light-weight tweed fabric is a great transition piece as we go from late Winter into Spring and all the way through Summer.  It’s no secret I love leopard, so this blouse was a natural choice haha.  Another trend that is on fire right now are white shoes!  I picked up these white booties a couple months ago and felt they were the perfect statement shoe to jazz up this outfit.  These could be a little extra for a super conservative office, and if that’s the case, then swap out the booties for white, black, or nude heels.  And if your work requires a blazer, simply layer a black blazer or cardigan over for client meetings!

For size reference, I’m wearing an XS in the skirt and a size Small in the top!

LOOK 2: DRESSING UP JEANS with a PINK BLAZER + HEELS FOR DAY TO NIGHT

Ladies, meet the prettiest pink blazer that will become your wardrobe must-have this Spring and Summer!  In case you missed it, pink blazers are having a moment all over the internet right now and I’m here for it!  Pink has and will always be one of my favorite colors and I just adore this light pink hue.  It’s soft and feminine and can be dressed up for the office or dressed down – like I did here – for a date night or brunch with the girls!

One of my favorite ways to snazz up a pair of jeans is to pair them with heels, and continuing on with the white shoe trend, I opted for these white beauties!  I’ve had these heels for well over a year now and they are awesome.  Awesome quality, are beyond comfortable – literally I walked all over Washington D.C. one night in them! – and the pointed toe elongates my legs but doesn’t squish my toes, which is a miracle when it comes to pointy toes!  The white shoe brought out the white polka dots in my top, which is a wardrobe staple you need.  The larger dots, and that they are spaced out quite a bit from one another, keeps this print from being too busy and with it’s natural black and white color palette, you can literally pair this cami tank with everything and anything!  From a pencil skirt, to midi skirt, to chinos or pixie pants; this polka dot tank is a great layering piece!

Another trend happening for Spring are cropped pants and jeans!  I fell in love with these jeans the moment I tried them on!  Seriously, the fit is SO GOOD.  They have stretch yet still have structure and hold their shape, which is super important when shopping for denim.  I typically am drawn to distressed denim, but not every pair of jeans should have holes or rips in them, especially if you plan to wear them to work (or around dads… ya know, to avoid the “did you pay for those holes” or “did you buy those like that” jokes!).  I’m 5″2, so I went with the petites for these jeans but because they are cropped, I could have gotten away with a regular length if they would have had my size in store!

For size reference, I’m wearing a size 0 in the Blazer, a Petite Medium in tank (a regular Small would have worked, too!), and 6 Petite in the jeans!

LOOK 3: BLUSH PINK SWEATER, CROPPED JEANS + PEEP-TOE BOOTIES

Last but certainly not least is this beautiful blush pink knit sweater!  Nothing says Spring like a pretty pink sweater and I just love the details on this one.  The open stitch is breathable and airy and the diamond pattern is unique and not something I’ve seen lately; which I appreciate!  It also comes in a super pretty ice blue shade, which I’m going back for!  Light weight knits are super versatile; as I could easily wear this sweater to work with pixie pants or a skirt and opt for simple studs rather than these statement earrings!

While it’s a bit too chilly for shorts just yet, I can’t wait to pair this pullover with my favorite cutoff jean shorts and I’ll be swapping out the booties for wedges and sandals!  These are the same jeans from Look 2, but in a darker indigo wash.  If you work in a business-casual office and can wear jeans to work, these would be perfect for you!  Again, the cropped hem is super on-trend right now but since these don’t have distressing, they will be a classic wardrobe staple for years to come!

For size reference, I’m wearing a Medium in the sweater and a 6 Petite in jeans!
