Hi galpals and happy Sunday! Also, happy March Madness weekend! As most of you know, Tony and I are die-hard Creighton basketball fans and all ’round college basketball enthusiasts. Growing up a tomboy, I played a bunch of different sports and was always watching some kind of sporting event on tv or in person. When Tony and I met, he was definitely into March Madness, and after a decade of being together, needless to say I’ve become a bit of a aficionado on Creighton basketball and college hoops in general. Which means that the start of March Madness literally feels like Christmas morning! From Thursday-Sunday, our front door remains open to our friends who come and go as they please, bringing snacks and beer, and drop by to watch a few games and talk shop.
Tony takes 3 tv’s from our first floor and brings them downstairs to set up what he likes to call the “Ultimate Viewing Experience” haha. Four games on at one time = 4 tv’s. I think it’s a bit redic and I’m not much of a basement dweller (it’s freezing in ours), but who am I to deny my hard-working, hoop-lovin’ husband of his viewing experience! So needless to say, we take college basketball very seriously around here. I have so much fun filling out my 3 brackets and keeping an eye on how I’m doing from the CBS Sports app. If you don’t like basketball then you
probably definitely think I’m nuts, but if you are a fellow college hoops fan, then you totally get it! It’s such a fun time of year for Tone and I because we started dating right about this time TEN years ago, so March Madness and St. Patrick’s Day always leave me feeling nostalgic!
I also love this time of year because to me it officially kicks off the Spring season! So I thought it would be the perfect time to share this gorgeous floral top that most definitely embodies everything Spring fashion stands for! One of my fave color combos to wear together is pink and yellow and this bell sleeve beauty is speaking to my heart. Long sleeve, light weight tops are a great way to ease into Spring if Spring hasn’t necessarily sprung where you live. It’s definitely still pretty chilly here (it’s been mild, but not quite warm), so floral maxi dresses and tanks are out of the questions right now! Long sleeve flowy tops give you all the Spring vibes but are still functional for this transitional time of year. Plus this top layers under jackets so nicely, which is key for this time of year!
This top will look adorable with jean shorts and sandals when it starts to warm up, but in the meantime, I love how it pops against my white jeans, which are also a must-have for early Spring! I certainly don’t follow the “no white jeans before Memorial Day” rule and you shouldn’t either! If you haven’t found a great pair of white jeans then look no further, because these ones are legit. For years I searched high and low for the perfect pair and I’m so happy with these. They’re high waisted (but not super high, like not up to your bra, high), have a good amount of stretch, they aren’t thick but also aren’t see through, and have just the right amount of distressing detail! But if white jeans just aren’t your thing, then you can easily wear this floral top with your favorite pair of blue denim and add your own colorful accessories!
