Hi friends and happy Friday! How was everyone’s week? It has been on the chillier side of life the past few days, and pretty rainy, but on Monday it was an absolute top-10 day here in Nebraska! I boogied out of work as fast as I could to head downtown to meet Michelle for a little blog date. My heart is always full after spending time with her! We discuss our business plans, hopes & dreams, and also have real-talk about family, love, and God. I am so blessed to have her in my corner.
So fast forward to Thursday when she sent me over my pics from our shoot – she always finds ways to make me look better than I actually do, praise Jesus! – and I was so excited to see them! Until I did. And I immediately let comparisons and negative thoughts come into my head. I don’t know what it is… but lately I haven’t been feeling (or looking) like my old self. Maybe it’s because I haven’t hit the gym in a while and feel a bit soft, or it’s because I’m in dire need of a facial and realize that being in my 30’s doesn’t mean I can get by with makeup wipes and SPF 15 anymore, or if it’s the clothes and outfits I’m wearing. Maybe it’s a combo of all three! And while you can’t drag my buns to the gym or come over for spa days, you can provide feedback and helpful insights to my current fashion state!
So I’m bringing this to my readers and friends who have been following me for a long time… I want to know what YOU enjoy seeing on my blog and Instagram. What are the kinds of outfits and looks that inspire you? Please do a me a favor and take a few short seconds or minutes to share your thoughts – shoot me an email or leave a comment on this post! What’s important to you, is important to me, and I always want to be certain that my fashion & style aligns with my readers’ wants and needs!
Just how you gals look to me for inspiration and ideas, I am doing the same!
Ok, so back to this look, and speaking of style & inspiration, I am just loving this stripe & plaid combo! I’ve said it before (here) that this “blanket” scarf is not heavy like a typical blanket scarf and the colors are so pretty and soft. It’s relatively light weight and not super chunky, which makes it great accessory for cooler Spring days – and under $17! A classic striped top is a wardrobe staple and one that can be reworked so many different ways. Plus this top is under $14! Once the days get a bit warmer, I plan to pair it with a floral midi skirt and my favorite pair of gray booties! And the best part about this stripe & plaid combo, both pieces combined are only $31! The website SheIn has such great pieces at affordable prices.
My jeans, also from SheIn, are the perfect mix of three components – a high waist, rips & distressed detail, and a boyfriend fit, without all the bagginess! Usually I am more drawn to darker denim but decided that for Spring I would step out of my comfort zone and start wearing more lighter denim. And when I’m trying on something new <— did you see what I did there ha! I like to make sure that I’m not spending an arm and a leg. These jeans are under $17!
