Hi gals and happy Tuesday! Can you believe that we are in the last week of September? I feel like it just got here! Sigh, time is going way too fast! Yesterday Tony and I had our cake testing and holy moly, it was delicious. And I don’t even like sweets! It was so funny because the cake designer was asking me all kinds of questions about cake design, how many tiers, real flowers, etc. and it occurred to me (and him) that I hadn’t even thought about what the cake would look like! He was shocked and said I was like 1% of brides who don’t have everything planned out. I will say that once the big stuff was done – church, reception, DJ, and dress – I checked out a bit on the planning front! Apparently little to-do’s and details aren’t my thing, which I find ironic since I live for outfit accents, accessories, and finding elements that make an outfit pop! We also met with our priest for the first time and it hit me like a ton of bricks. My dream of getting married to my best friend in a big beautiful Cathedral in front of God and our nearest & dearest is happening. And soon! Just 95 days away! We also mailed out a good chunk of our Save the Dates. Who else found the process of finalizing your invite list to be the most daunting task?! Tony is/was Mr. Baseball and due to his family name and his involvement with athletics, he knows everyone. Which is a testament to how beloved he his and makes a friend in everyone he meets! But unfortunately our space has a max capacity of 208, which has made “the list” seem like an impossible task! But I just have to remember that at the end of the day, all that matters is Him, him, me, and our closest family and friends coming together to celebrate this wedding, almost 9 years in the making!
With lots of meetings and appointments approaching over the next two months, I’ve been looking for easy, throw on and go outfits to help me save time while still looking put together. I have determined that a soft striped dress (with pockets!) is a closet staple and I couldn’t believe I never owned one! This dress is great with flats for running errands but will also look so cute with booties and a jean jacket! Or utility vest! Stripes are such a classic print that you never have to worry about them going out of style. I love to mix my prints, especially in the Fall, so I layered on this plaid infinity scarf for a cozy accessory! Blanket scarves are all the rage for Fall but I often find them to be too bulky and big. Like I don’t really want to wear a blanket. This plaid scarf is perfect because it has the look of the blanket scarf but the infinity loop offers a leaner look while still providing warmth!
