Hi friends and happy Sunday! How was your weekend? I just got home from spending the weekend in Dallas, TX for the rewardStyle conference, and after a full three days of makeup, heels, and spanx, I’m so happy to be back in my leggings and fuzzy socks haha. If you’re not familiar with rewardStyle (they invented and own LiketoKnow.it) and want to know more about how they are an integral part of my business, I’ll be doing a blog post covering what I learned and FAQ’s very soon. So if you have any questions about the business of blogging send me a message or DM on Instagram!
And speaking of Instagram, I’m sure you’ve noticed that gingham is trending big time right now for Spring – from frilly dresses, to shorts, and rompers – this print is every where! And what color lovin’, print wearin’ kind of blogger would I be if I didn’t share this adorable off the shoulder frock! Between the ruffle hem, tie waist detail, and the ever-so-flattering OTS cut, this gingham dress is a Spring & Summer gem. I can already envision so many different ways to style the dress, as well as a variety of places & occasions! You girls know I’m all about getting that bang for your buck, so versatility and comfort are key!
Where to Go and How to Style It
Summer BBQ or picnic! Ditch the heels and opt for your favorite sandals (I’m thinking white gladiators!) for an effortless footwear choice. Because it’s super hot and humid in Nebraska during the Summer, I would most likely wear my hair up in a big bun, keep the makeup to a minimum, but keep with the statement earrings to add that fun pop!
Baby or Bridal Shower! This light weight and very comfortable dress is ideal for a dressier occasion where you’ll be doing a lot of sitting and eating haha! And that’s exactly what goes down at bridal and baby showers! Depending on the venue, I would wear tan or white wedges, wear my hair down but pulled back so it’s not in the way of all that delicious food I’ll be consuming, and again would still wear a fun earring!
Casual Sunday Funday! Tony and I love to hit up the Farmer’s Market on late Sunday mornings and this dress will be perfect because I can wear it to church with heels but can swap those out for slip on sneakers for an easy breezy outfit! Ditch the clutch for a cross body purse or over the shoulder tote so you can be hands free while browsing at the vendor stations! And if you’re into happy hour patio dates with your boo or your girlfriends, this dress would be my top pick for a fun afternoon in the sun! Let those shoulders get sun kissed while looking put together without having to even try!
