Hi friendssss and happy first Humpday of May! You. guys. It doesn’t seem possible that Memorial Day is this month! Time is flying by and I’m in disbelief that it’s about to be Summer. This is probably due to the fact that it was just in the 30’s last week, so I haven’t been able to do much warm weather wardrobe planning! Plus I might be avoiding bikini season. #postweddingweightgain is real. However, if we’re talking outdoor parties, pool time (in the comforts of my parents’ backyard!), seasonal beers, and patio sitting? Then yaasssss, I’m ready for all that!
I was planning out my calendar for May and I have so much to look forward to, with one of my favorite holiday weekends being Memorial Day! It’s the unofficial start to Summer and is also the weekend we kick off pool season over at my parents house. If you know my mom & dad, then you know they love to have friends and family over all the time. You can catch my mom sipping on a beer through a straw and simultaneously saving all the bugs from drowning in the pool and my dad is at the grill whipping up the most delicious jalepeno poppers, while everyone gathers around for amazing food, friendship, laughter, and a whole lotta Jimmy Buffett music! Even though I spend majority of that weekend in a swimsuit, I love to show up to the party (and the grocery store!) in my festive attire. I mentioned here that I don’t own much red, but after I spotted this vibrant red number from The Basement Boutique, I knew I had to take the plunge and add it to my closet!
Not only are there BBQ’s and family gatherings over the Holiday weekend, but there’s also a ton of high school and graduation parties happening! And if you seem to have multiple places to be through out that weekend, then it’s a must to be dressed in theme while being comfortable and cool! This ruffle sleeve top can be worn OTS (off-the-shoulder) OR how I styled it, as flutter sleeves. I love the versatility, as it keeps it fresh and can easily change up the feel or vibe you’re going for! I opted for a very quintessential patriotic look, with the white denim and blue scarf (darling scarf option here) on my bag. The white denim would be perfect if you’re going to be having cooler temps, especially if you’ll be outside. And if it’s super chilly, just bring your trusty blue denim jacket with you! But if you’re lucky enough to experience some Summer weather that weekend, then trade the white denim for blue cutoff jean shorts and ditch the heels for wedges or gladiator sandals! I say keep the leopard belt no matter what, because it’s fun and why not?!!
Red Top Information – It’s just $22 when using code SABBY15 & I’m wearing a Large (for the length) but a Medium would have been just right!
