Hi friends and happy almost Friday! Are you surviving your week? I had a terrible stomach ache yesterday so I pretty much tackled my wedding to-do list in the comfort of my sweats while rockin’ a messy bun. To all my married peeps – how can such a fun and exciting occasion create such tedious tasks?! It took me cleaning my entire office and rearranging my shoes, because it was so messy, before I could let myself sit down and write the copy for the invites & invitation package! My biggest hurdle (this week) has been figuring out parking for our downtown Omaha reception, seeing that our wedding date is on NYE. Which means everyone and their mama will be headed downtown to get their drank on while I’m trying to make sure my sweet grandparents don’t have to park and walk 50 blocks to make it to the cocktail hour! Also, on a more serious note, I’ve been trying to think of ways we can include Tony’s late father into our wedding. So after much googling and Pinterest stalking, I think I found a nice way to include him on the invite, as well as through out the ceremony and reception. I can’t divulge what I have planned because I think/hope Tony reads my blog ha!
My bridal shower is next Sunday and I bought the cutest light pink dress for the occasion! I’ve been struggling with outfit ideas for wedding related events in the coming months, because a LWD or white lacey/floral number is not appropriate for a winter wedding! So I decided to not get hung up on white, and rather focus on romantic and chic dresses in feminine shades. Plus this ensures that I can wear these dresses for more than just showers and the rehearsal dinner! Pastel hues – lavender, pink, dusty blues, and greiges – are very in for Fall and Winter, and I’ve found myself buying sweaters, scarves, bags, and jackets in all of these colors. Which inspired me to break out one of my favorite purchases from this Spring while vacationing in Paris, this pink gingham sweater! I couldn’t be happier that sweater weather is officially here – it was 54 degrees yesterday! – and our days have been cool and crisp. I love pairing sweaters with boyfriend jeans and heels. Honestly, it’s one of my favorite go-to date night looks for Winter! We live a pretty casual life aka sushi and beer make me happy, so when it comes to my style, dressed up comfort is my jam! Swap the tote bag for an interesting clutch or chic cross body bag, throw on some bracelets, and paint those lips pink for an easy breezy date night look!
What are your favorite date night looks?!
