Hi babes and happy Thursday! Before we dive into this adorable floral tunic I already know what you’re thinking… Sara, why the heck are you wearing open-toe shoes with SNOW on the ground?!? Even though it looks like it’s freezing, on the day we shot this look it was actually pretty darn nice for late January! I’m also sick and tired of boots and closed-to shoes, so I’ve been doing some major Spring outfit planning which includes these bow mules. I obviously won’t be wearing them until all the snow melts for good, but I did want to show you girls how cute they looked with ripped jeans and my floral print top. Raise your hand if you’re ready for sandal weather!
I definitely have Spring on the brain, but just because Mother Nature isn’t cooperating just yet doesn’t mean I can’t dress for it, right? For me, the trick to surviving these last few months (hopefully month!) of winter weather is to add pretty prints and bold, colorful hues into my wardrobe. It’s no secret that I’m drawn to #allthecolors and have been honest that I get into a bit of a style rut during Fall and Winter. But without fail, every February I start to get my mojo back and begin to feel like myself again! My life would be so much easier if I liked black, gray and brown haha. I almost go on a bit of shopping hold during Fall and Winter, too, because I just don’t feel inspired by much and rarely find pieces that speak to my color-lovin’ heart! So now as we move through February and March is on the horizon, the creative juices have started to flow and the shopping has commenced! A few of my recent Spring purchases include these shoes, as well as this colorful Spring sweater.
And my favorite top would have to be this navy floral tunic! I don’t own a ton of navy but fell in love with this print the moment I spotted it on the Amarello Boutique website. This is the perfect transitional piece because it is a light weight fabric, so it layers great under jackets, cardigans, and vests but can also be worn solo when it warms up a bit. I definitely plan to wear it with shorts and wedges in the Summer, too! I’m always cold when I go to the grocery store, bars, and restaurants – which is why I opt for longer sleeved tops to wear with my jean shorts. Another reason I love this top is because it’s long enough to wear with leggings and covers my bum! That means you can dress it down with your favorite cotton leggings & booties/boots OR dress it up with jeans and heels. You could also wear this top to the office by pairing it with a pencil skirt or white/cream pixie pants! Versatility is key when I’m shopping for transitional items, so I must be able to wear them multiple ways and for a variety of occasions!
Affordability is also super important when adding items to my Spring line up. Spring is definitely when I do most of my shopping, so I’m always looking for budget-friendly pieces! This navy tunic is only $32 PLUS an additional 15% off with special code Sabby15 from Amarello Boutique!
