Hey babes and happy Thursday! For those of you who are long-time readers, then you already know this, but if you’re new (Hi friend!), I better fill you in on the fact that last year…. I literally got rid of every.single.dress. in my closet. NO joke, I sold or donated every dress I owned. Cray Cray, I know. And why you may ask??? Sister, I have no answer for you! I was on a big cutoff shorts kick and I also was in denial about loosing weight for my wedding dress, so that could be why. But, regardless, I’m back on the dress train and a believer in all of their goodness! Because dresses are, in fact, like the easiest and most flattering things everrrrr to wear, and they don’t require pants. Especially when it comes to my Summer wardrobe, maxi dresses that are easy breezy have my heart!
And whether you’ve been reading for 3 years or 3 days, then you definitely know I preach versatility and it’s a must in everything I buy. Since adding dresses back into my wardrobe, I’m always looking to be sure it has longevity, comfort, style, and a little bit of sass! I found this dress from Fancy Frills Boutique and immediately fell hard for the pretty peachy shade. I love how it looks on my skin tone – it’s one of those colors that makes you look instantly tanner and would look great on all types of skin, from fair to dark! And while florals are certainly not groundbreaking for Spring, I do love this big and bold flower print, as it makes a statement without being too busy! The cinched empire waist is uber flattering and I adore the flutter sleeves! Flutter sleeves are the latest sleeve trend for Summer, as it’s a great take on the bell and flute sleeve trend. As much as I would love to rock those big bell sleeves through the hot heat of Summer, it’s not realistic. So these flutter sleeves give me the flare without being too heavy! Plus they lay beautifully on your upper arms – total bonus if you’re a bit insecure about that part of your body!
This dress has the perfect V-neck shape because it’s not too low! Lately, I’m seeing so many tops & dresses with these plunging cuts, and while it looks great on the model, that’s not realistic or appropriate for what I plan to wear my dresses for. I want to have a fabulous and versatile Summer dress, like this floral maxi, that I can wear to graduation parties, bridal showers, outdoor causal weddings, Church, and to dinner with my family. If it were any lower, I would not feel comfortable doing so, therefor not getting my money’s worth! Sure, there are pieces that I would deem “husband only” or “private island/honeymoon must-haves”, but I’m not going to be featuring them here haha! But it’s funny because T and I are planning our Mexico vacation for October and I already put this dress in my vacay section!
Now let’s chat accessories! With a bold print, you seriously don’t need to do much with your jewelry when you’re wearing a fabulous dress like this! So I opted for a dainty layered choker (only $38!) and a cute pair of pink sunnies (only $50!). I purchased this clear acrylic clutch with floral appliqués for our honeymoon and I’ve been using it nonstop lately because it’s perfect for Spring & Summer! My neon orange heels were a splurge last Spring but now they’re on super sale (go you!) and I think they’re such a fun color to add to your shoe lineup. Surprisingly, this color goes great with lots of shades. My favorite pairing is with all kinds of blue hues! I love how the heels make the peach in my dress pop and play up the colorful florals!
My dress is ahhhhmazingly priced at only $27 (with code sabbystyle20) from Fancy Frills Boutique and I’m wearing a Medium! It also comes in a gorgeous Sea Foam Green and Ivory!
This post was sponsored by Fancy Frills Boutique. All thoughts and opinions are authentically my own! Thank you so much for supporting the boutiques that I partner with and allow me to operate Sabby Style! xoxo
