Hi friends and happy Tuesday! How was your weekend? Saturday morning I had boot camp at DeVetter Fitness and then in the afternoon Tony and I stopped by a friend’s book signing and then met some other pals for sips and grub! Sunday I shot looks for ze blog with Michelle and our post-shoot lunch turned into wine, which turned into happy hour, which turned into dinner! Don’t you love those kind of days? Just getting lost in great conversation and connecting on all things life. Though my to-do list was still pretty full when Sunday night arrived, my love cup was filled to the brim!
We also experienced some pretty amazing mild weather over the weekend, which allowed me to bust out my new OTK (over the knee) boots! I bought these boots back in JULY PEOPLE from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and had been regretting it, because for four months I’ve just been staring at them every day. But then Sunday came, I zipped them up, and fell in love all over again! Every year I tell myself to invest in a great pair of OTK boots but never do because I’m cheap and would rather buy 3 pairs of heels vs. one pair of boots. But this year I knew the time had come to bite the bullet and finally find the right pair for me. I’m pretty particular about tall boots because I’m a short lass, only 5″2, and also have muscular-ish legs (I used to play soccer, God bless soccer thighs!), which means I don’t want a tight boot squeezing my quads and thighs over the top of said boot! I also wanted to get the right neutral shade, one that would compliment brown, gray, blush, and black hues. Versatility is key when spending a pretty penny on boots! So after years of much debate and pondering, I decided that these were the ones for me. The height of the boot itself is perfect, as it comes over the knee but isn’t a thigh-high boot – not the look I’m going for with this kind of boot. The tan suede is so pretty and goes with so much, as you can see I’m wearing black, leopard, white, gold, and turquoise! The heel height is also just right, as it gives me the height and illusion of longer stems, but is still appropriate for actual wear and walking. I have so many cute outfit ideas ready to go with these boots, so stay tuned for lots more posts in these bad boys!
Note – These exact boots are sold out but I found a nearly identical pair that is under $100 plus Free Shipping!
And one of my favorite ways to wear OTK boots is with faux leather leggings and a long cardigan! This leopard cardi is seriously what Fall Fashion dreams are made of. We’ve all heard it before, but I must reiterate that “As far as I’m concerned, leopard is a neutral” – Jenna Lyons, and I have embraced this sentiment with open arms! And because it’s a neutral, it never goes out of style and works in every season. I love this cardigan because it’s long and covers my bum! I spend a lot of time in leggings, so I’m always on the hunt for sweaters and tunics that I can pair with leggings and cute boots! This cutie of a sweater is under $34 when you use shopping code SABBY20 from Bennie C’s Boutique!
