Hi sweet friends and happy first day of Spring!  Goodness it feels so good to type that haha.  I’m not one to wish away the days or months, and I try to find enjoyment in every season, but I’m more than ready for warmer weather to arrive!  If I had to choose one season to sum up my personal style, it would definitely be Spring.  Bring on all the bright colors and pastel hues, bold floral prints, open-toe shoes, and statement-making accessories!  So naturally when I spotted this gorgeous maxi dress from Miss Match Boutique, I fell in love right away!  Not only do I love to mix patterns, but I’m drawn to pieces that also combine a variety of different colors in fun, unexpected ways.  I often receive comments from women saying “that looks great on you, but I could never pull that off”, but I’m here to tell you that anyone can pull anything off!  As long as you feel good, it will look good.  Don’t be afraid to wear two, three – heck even four! – bold colors together.  Don’t be afraid to mix florals with stripes.  Don’t be afraid to wear white jeans or shoes before Memorial Day.  Fashion should be fun & freeing – not dictated by outdated rules or insecurities!
A few of my favorite color combinations to wear together include: blue + orange, turquoise + pink, green + coral, and yellow + purple!  This maxi dress is such a standout – from the ruffle hem, lace detailing, to the rich floral print that is a fabulous accent to the bold marigold background!  This dress can be worn on or off the shoulder, which gives it some major versatility!  Meaning I can wear it for a variety of occasions; from weddings, bridal & baby showers, to even more formal occasions like Sunday mass or a Baptism.  And speaking of Church, this dress would be a perfect option for Easter Sunday!  I’ve seen so many darling dresses lately, but they’re either too short, don’t have sleeves, or show too much skin around the chest area.  This maxi dress is ideal for Easter Sunday because of the maxi length, which makes it more formal and “dressy”.  I would also opt to wear the sleeves on my shoulder versus off for this particular holiday.  And the ruffle detail covers the top of my arms and shoulders.  I personally don’t feel comfortable wearing sleeveless dresses and tops in Church, especially on Easter!  If you’re Church or Worship Center is more formal, then you can easily layer a cardigan or jacket over this dress for a more modest look!
I’m on the shorter side of life (I’m 5″3) and sometimes floor length dresses can swallow me up, so I really like that this ties around the waist which gives me more shape! Â If you prefer a different belt, the tie is removable, which gives you even more ways to style this dress – from glam vibes with a gold or embellished belt to a more edgy look with a black studded belt, or you can go the classic route with a designer belt, like Tory Burch or Gucci! Â There are so many beautiful colors in the print, making it super easy to pull from when deciding which accessories or shoes to wear!
