Hi friends and happy Thursday! I’m so excited for the weekend, even though tomorrow doesn’t feel like Friday! These short weeks always throw me off. And can you even believe that it’s officially June 1st?! Holy moly – I swear it was just NYE and I was getting married. As much as I love Summer and I’m so excited for sunny days, time needs to slow down! So until someone invents a time machine, I plan to make the most out of each and every day, to really make all the moments & minutes count! And to help me stay on track, I make monthly goals & to-do lists. Let me first just say that I failed miserably at May’s list. And I hate that! Like out of ten items, ONE was crossed off. Ugh, such a waste of time! It’s so easy to make excuses and to say “tomorrow” but that is such a bad habit to get into. I’ve made it a mission to not let this fresh month slip away, so I’m going to take my goals very seriously! I write them down on a bright pink paper in big bold sharpie and tape it to either my bathroom mirror or to the wall in my Cloffice. It’s very much “out of site, out of mind” for me, so it definitely helps to keep them visible in a room I go in every day! It also helps to say them aloud, which keeps me accountable, and I want to share them with you!
If you have monthly goals, I would love to hear so we can help each other stay on track!
JUNE GOALS
1. Workout 4x a Week
I use Jillian Michaels dvds, as well as the 21 Day Fix dvd, at home. These are all under 30 high intensity interval workouts, which I really enjoy and have seen really awesome results (when doing them consistently haha)
2. Drink More Water & Less Alcohol
To help me drink more water, I’ve started adding a little bit of flavored La Croix into my tumblers. This adds just a tiny amount of fizz & flavor but you still get all the H20! I’m also terrible at being hungover, so consuming less alcohol will help me make better use of my days aka not being a sorry sack of poo!
3. Stay On Top of My Inbox
My inbox was majorly neglected in May, so I spent a good 2 hours yesterday digging through it and am about half way through it! And I hate spending my time on playing catch up, so it’s a goal to take care of emails that come in right away and not let me sit.
4. Make Time for Friend Dates
It’s so easy to get into your weekly routines with your spouse or significant other, that you almost feel a little guilty breaking out of that routine to make plans with friends. I would say overall, I’m pretty good about making time for my friendships, but I did neglect this area a bit in May, so there’s always room for improvement!
5. Get Creative & Healthier in the Kitchen
I used to love to grocery shop and cook, but lately I’ve been in a bit of a rut! I think I need to get some new recipes because our usual lineup is getting a bit old. Plus we’ve been out and about so much, that we’re not eating at normal meal times and it’s just easier to eat out. But I HATE spending money on eating out. So I plan to do some Pinterest digging for new recipes and then make a hefty Trader Joe’s run tomorrow to stock us up on all of our favorite healthy items!
6. Wake Up Earlier
This. One. My biggest struggle and mental battle is waking up too late. With being my own boss, I have the freedom and flexibility to make my own schedule, which is awesome! But, it’s been tough for me to establish my daily routine. And that means staying up way too late and sleeping in far too long! Does anyone have any tricks on how to miraculously become a morning person? Send them my way! I know I’m a natural-born sleeper, so my plan for the month of June is to *try* and go to bed early, so I can wake up at a decent time!
7. Go To the Farmer’s Markets
Tony and I love going the Farmer’s Markets on the weekends! But come July, it starts getting so hot that it’s hard to enjoy the outdoors unless your by a pool or lake. So I would like for us to go to two this month! We usually hit up the Sunday morning one in Aksarben (it’s open until 2, so we usually stroll in around 11:30/noon… back to goal #6), but there’s a Saturday morning one in downtown Omaha that we’ve never been to, so I want to check that out. When I go to the Farmer’s Market, I keep it cute, comfy, and casual and I can’t wait to wear this darling OTS top with jean shorts and sandals! OTS tops are here to stay for Summer and I’m not complaining. This one immediately stole my heart with the pretty blue and white stripes and the adorable ruffle! Plus it’s only $23 when using code SABBY20 at K. Ellis Boutique!
8. Write Thank You Notes to SS Partners
While emails are easy, there’s nothing better than a hand-written note! I used to be in the habit of writing thank you’s and thinking of you notes to the brands & businesses I worked with, but of course, made excuses about “not having enough time” and “I’ll do it tomorrow” and it fizzled out. So I plan to buy a cute new stack of cards and get to writing! It’s so important not only for your business, but for relationships and feel-good feels!
9. Shop Less, Save More
I’m pretty sure I write this on every single goal list I make! But it’s an ongoing balance of being a good consumer, because it is my job to share the latest & greatest sales, trends, tips, and tricks, but to also be a good saver and contributor to my family’s financial health!
Cheers to kicking butt in all aspects of life and to making the most out of June!
