Hi friends and happy Wednesday! Today I want to chat about how to transition your white denim from Summer to Fall. I personally wear my white jeans all year long, but it takes practice and the key to rocking them in each season starts with what you put on top, pun intended! I’m a rule-follower by nature, but when it comes to the silly old rule of “no white after Labor Day”, I break it, and gladly. Sure, I’m not going to wear a white linen sun dress in the dead of winter, because #commonsense, but I feel like that rule certainly is not applicable to denim. I mean, aren’t we supposed to wear jeans/pants when it’s cold outside?!?! White is one of my most beloved neutrals, so these white jeans go with literally every piece in my closet, from Summer tanks to Winter sweaters and everything in between! White denim serves as the perfect canvas; allowing your top, shoes, and accessories to pop and stand out! So let’s break down 3 simple ways for you to wear your favorite white jeans all Fall long!
3 Tips to Transition Your White Denim from Summer to Fall
1. Pair warm, earth-toned tops with your jeans. I’m a sucker for a good leopard print any time of year, but most especially in Fall! The rich brown and tan hues in this top are so pretty and I adore the tiny hints of blue found in the spots. This is such a unique take on a traditional leopard top! And can we chat about these sleeves?! I’m obsessed with the frilly, flowy arms, as they add a bit of drama without looking tacky or over-the-top. The high neckline balances the print and statement sleeves, which means that you could most certainly style this blouse for the office! If your place of business is on the less formal side of life, this would be such a fun top to wear with a black pencil skirt and black or white pixie pants paired with ballet flats or nude pumps! Need to dress it up a notch? Simply add a black blazer (or any color, really! After all, leopard is a neutral!) as an additional layer for important meetings or out-of-office work functions.
2. Appropriate Shoes. It’s still warm here in Omaha, so for me, open-toed shoes are definitely still acceptable and are in heavy rotation right now. But once that Fall chill arrives, it’s time to bust out your favorite booties! There’s nothing more Fall-like than a solid jean & boot combo, and this applies to white jeans just the same. From taupe, tan, cognac, camel, and chestnut – brown booties and boots look so good with white jeans, because the colors pop and compliment the Fall foliage! Just like a white sundress in the middle of Fall, open-toed pastel heels, sandals, and flip flops are not appropriate, no matter what color your jeans are!
3. Fall Accessories. It’s time to make the switch to neutral purses and jewel-toned accessories as the weather cools down! Now, don’t get me wrong, you girls know I LOVE color and wear colorful pieces all year long. But still, there are certain items that are strictly for Spring & Summer and others that are specific to Fall & winter! Of course leopard goes with everything, but to keep the white jeans and leopard top on the Fall side of things, I opted for a brown hand bag, and white and gold earrings, rather than a pink bag or pink statement earrings, like I would do in Spring and Summer. I used to think neutrals equaled boring, but over the years I’ve learned how to fit neutrals into my colorful style! Pieces like these floral statement earrings, mustard slides, and of course, my white jeans, are awesome “neutral” pieces that don’t feel basic at all!
I’m dying to know, do you rock your white jeans all year long, too?!?
