Hello friends and happy fresh start of the week to you! I got back from Vegas on Saturday night and I’m still recovering. Lord, Sin City does not mess around. And I definitely don’t recover like I did when I was 21! I’ve also been crazy busy these past few weeks and have been going, going, going like the energizer bunny. But I’m not complaining because busy is good and I’m so thankful for every opportunity to travel and meet new people!
Last weekend I attended the Go Blog Social Conference in Des Moines, IA and had the pleasure of being their Keynote Speaker! Like what??? You guys, I was so nervous. And to think that just two months ago I quit my full-time day job to embark on blogging as my only income and now I’m talking about my journey and success story! God has crazy big plans in-store for us, but we have to make ourselves open and available for them to happen. Since taking SS full-time, the opportunities and new jobs have been bountiful and I know it’s because I put my faith and heart in God. I just knew that if I didn’t devote my everything to Sabby Style, then I would never truly see all that it could be!
So to have the opportunity to speak to other blogging gals who are on their own creative journeys was totally awesome and such a humbling experience. Not only did I meet the most nicest, stylish, and unique women at GBS, but the other speakers were dynamite! I got the inside scoop on all things Facebook Live from the Social Media Director for Better Homes & Gardens and learned the root of Confidence from the Business Development Director at PEACH! Side note – have you heard of PEACH? I hadn’t either until they gave me a bra fitting that totally changed my life and my girls were forever changed! I’ll be doing a full blog post soon about PEACH and my experience with their stylists, so stay tuned.
Not only did the bloggers look amazing, but the hotel where the conference was hosted was stunning! Hotel Renovo is just outside of Des Moines and was the perfect spot for an innovative and inspiring gathering! The decor inside was so cool, rustic mixed with chic designs, and the grounds were perfectly manicured and quaint. I mean, they even had a porch with rocking chairs! It felt like this hotel should have been on the East Coast because everything down to the details was executed to the T and the cool gray tones lent an ocean, seaside vibe.
Michelle and I couldn’t miss an opportunity to shoot blog photos while we were there because the scenery was beautiful and I’m obsessed with this floral OTS dress! One of my favorite stores in Omaha, Four Sisters Boutique, kindly dressed me for the conference! When planning my look for the full day of speakers, I knew I had to find something that was uber comfy, had Fall vibes, but was also appropriate for the warm weather. Florals are still very “in” for Fall and the sunny day called for a feminine off the shoulder dress! I seriously loved this dress because it has bell sleeves, which are also totally in for Fall, and this shade of blue doesn’t scream “summer” but is still so lovely. When wearing floral tones into Fall, look for darker colors or jeweled tones. This orange, green, and blue floral pattern was just enough color, making it a Summer to Fall match made in heaven!
