Hi friends and happy Thursday! Today’s post is a bit of a departure from my typical fashion-related post, but I’ve been receiving a ton of questions regarding my skin care routine and products I love/swear by, so I thought this would be the perfect time to update you on what I’ve been doing lately! Let me preface this post by saying that I am by no means a skin care guru and have just recently begun to dip my toe in the beauty/skin care pond. After years and years of getting by on makeup wipes & Oil of Olay lotion, I realized it was time to get serious about my skin, so I started with a much needed facial! God bless Katherine, the sweet & talented Esthetician at Garbo’s at Village Pointe, because not only did she give me the most relaxing 50 minutes of my life, but she also was such a dear in answering my 5,000 questions ha! There’s so much to know and a bazillion different products out there, so I took advantage of our time together and was able to pick her brain and map out a skin care routine to fit my lifestyle & current needs.
Who else has tried skin care regimens that have multiple products and while you have the best intentions to be diligent in using them every day, those multiple snooze buttons happen and then the evening tired feels roll around and you can barely muster up the energy to brush your teeth, resulting in neglected skin! One of my biggest concerns when chatting about my skin care needs was just that – I needed simple, quality products that were quick and easy to use. We landed on three products; Exfoliating Cream Cleanser, Serum, & Hydrating Face Cream! I had recently purchased a high quality serum from another line, but needed the other two products to accompany it, and I am beyond pleased with the Aveda Cleanser & Cream! The exfoliating cleanser is made with crushed bamboo, making it super gentle & soothing and I honestly LOVE it. After I wash my face, I then apply my serum around my eyes and wait for it to dry. Then I finish with the hydrating cream and I’m obsessed with this lotion! You guys, it’s like putting fresh, cool water on your face. No joke, it’s amazing! And a little bit goes a long way, which means I’ll get lots of usage from the jar. And that’s it! 3 simple steps using quality products and I’m already seeing a world of difference in my skin. My fine lines have diminished and my makeup is going on so much smoother because my skin is happy & hydrated! This was my first time having an Aveda facial and buying Aveda products for home use and I have to say I am thrilled with this company. I definitely plan to add more products (eye cream, face oil, & a mask) to my lineup soon!
My thoughts and opinions are NOT sponsored by Aveda. I honestly loved my facial experience and the products she used during the treatment & the ones I purchased!
Below are the products (step by step) that Katherine used during my facial!
Step 1 – Salt Scrub with Champeure Body Wash
Step 2 – Hot Towel Rinse – HOLY MOLY, this felt amazing!
Step 3 – Cuticle and Calous Removal
Note – every tool used during my pedicure was single use (minus the stainless steel tools)
Step 4 – Hot Oil Massage & Hot Towels
Step 5 – Hand Massage
Step 6 – Choosing my Colors //OPI “Alpine Snow” & OPI “Tiramisu for Two”
