Hi friends and happy Saturday! I’m so excited to announce that I’ll be partnering with the University of Nebraska for the next year to bring you a variety of Game Day and Lifestyle fashion inspiration! If you aren’t familiar, I was born and grew up in Nebraska and was raised a Husker fan! I went through the University of Nebraska system for both my Bachelor and Master’s degrees, so the love for Husker football and my State runs deep and I’m so proud to be a Nebraskan!
Are you a college football fan? I have the fondest memories of making the quick 50 minute drive from Omaha to Lincoln on Saturdays for games with my family. From listening to sports talk radio on the way down, to eating a slice of Valentino’s pizza in Memorial Stadium, and releasing that red balloon when the first touch down is scored – there’s nothing sweeter than college football and the hope that each season brings! If we couldn’t make it down to Lincoln on game day, we of course would gather with friends and family to root on our ‘Skers while feasting on cheese dip, veggie trays, and bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers – my dad’s favorite app to make on the grill!
So we’ve got football and food, but what about the fashion?!? I’ve shared time and time again that I’m a huge sports fan and grew up a major tomboy, meaning I lived in soccer jerseys and sports camp t-shirts from 1stgrade up until college. I also went to private school, so I wore a uniform for pretty much my entire life, meaning I had zero clue or experience in putting outfits together that didn’t involve a t-shirt! But as I’ve gotten older and have found my own personal style, I’ve realized that rocking your team colors does not mean you have to wear a scratchy, ill-fitting unisex t-shirt!
Let’s face it, a shirt that fits my Husband most likely will not flatter my figure! So, in honor of college football Saturday, I’m sharing a cute and comfy athleisure Game Day look! I love this Retro Brand tunic length sweatshirt because it’s long enough to wear with leggings (can I get an Amen!) and I’m obsessed with the cozy cowl neck. Whether I’m tailgating outside the stadium, attending the game, or watching at home; comfort is key! And you should feel how soft it is; I never want to take it off. I’ll be wearing this all Fall and Winter, and well into Spring, long after football is over! I love pieces that not only represent my Team but fit right into my every day wardrobe and style!
You can’t go wrong with leggings and sneakers and I always have my jean jacket in tow with me during Fall. Being able to tie it around my waist not only is a cute look but it’s practical and keeps my hands free – a win, win! And speaking of hands free, how great is this clear cross body bag?!? The new stadium & arena clear bag policies really threw off my handbag situation – anyone else? I’ve been looking high and low for a purse that was aesthetically pleasing and I found this one just in time for football and basketball season! The size is perfect and holds all of my essentials and I love the monogram detail, which takes it up a notch!
I would love to know who your team is and how you dress for Game Day!
Thank you to the University of Nebraska for sponsoring today’s post! Â All thoughts expressed are sincerely my own! #ad
