Hey babes and happy Thursday! How has your week been and how was your holiday weekend? Can you even believe that we are already a week into September? Like holy cow time seriously needs to slow down! Don’t get me wrong, I love Fall – well all the seasons! – but I don’t want to get caught up in wishing away the days. And besides, Mother Nature isn’t letting me fall for Fall because it was 93 degrees on Tuesday! So in order to feel like I’m dipping my toe into the cool temperature pond, but living in the heat of the moment, I’ve added a couple Fall-esque items such as these olive green shorts and blue plaid shirt!
I love the shade of olive because it’s a great closet neutral. Of course it looks great with other earth tones, but olive also pairs beautifully with pastel pink, yellow, white, and leopard print! The juxtaposition of military green with girly shades of blush create a unique combo! You can easily take your shorts into Fall when you add a great suede bootie and long sleeve shirt. Plaid is definitely a quintessential Fall pattern so I always add a fresh new one to my lineup every year! I tend to lean towards blue hues – my mom always said that blue tops highlighted my baby blues! – and I fell hard for this blue and white plaid. Tops that I can wear with shorts, jeans, and leggings definitely have my heart! There’s nothing worse than trying to get dressed but your top isn’t long enough to cover your bum, but you don’t want to swap those leggings for real pants! This top would look adorable with these same booties, black leggings, and a green military vest. Hello outfit inspiration!
I also got this top for Creighton Bluejay basketball games this winter! I’m not your typical, standard t-shirt, kind of gal, but I never miss a game and you better believe I’m always reppin’ my team. Therefor I find cute pieces that have my team’s colors so I can wear them to more than just games! Versatility and bang for your buck – that’s what I call closet bliss!
