Hi friends and happy Tuesday to you all! My oh my, last week was a busy one, as it was a nonstop week of events, meetings, and I went out of town over the weekend for a conference. I am so thankful for all of these amazing opportunities but I must admit that it’s nice to have a “normal” work week! Next weekend I will be traveling to Des Moines for the Go Blog Social conference and I am so excited to formally announce that I was asked to be the keynote speaker! You guys, let’s rewind to a few years ago when I would be giving presentations in grad school and I literally couldn’t stand the thought of talking to a small group for more than 10 minutes. Now fast forward to blogging full-time and living out my passions and dreams, I’m in awe of how awesome God is and the work He is doing through me. August of 2015 was when I made the decision in my heart & head that I would be my own boss someday soon and now a year later, I have the chance to share my story with women just like me. It’s incredibly exciting and completely humbling. I am blessed and thankful beyond measure! And if you are looking for knowledge, helpful tips, and insight into the world of blogging, creating, influencing – no matter what realm you are interested in, this would be an awesome and intimate opportunity for you! I would love to see familiar faces, and meet new ones, so please consider joining us in Des Moines next weekend! Get your tickets HERE! And check out the awesome hotel where it’s held!
And if that doesn’t make me busy enough, in two weeks I’m headed to Vegas for my Bachelorette Party! We’re staying at the MGM Grand and I cannot wait! I actually stayed at the MGM 10 years ago when I went to Vegas for the first time on my 21st birthday! There’s 7 of us going and it’s going to be a blast. My friends and I love to dance, so we’ll be coming home with tired legs and happy hearts!
When life gets crazy and hectic, I always reach for my favorite closet staples and this floral kimono is definitely in that lineup. It’s no secret I love kimonos, as seen here, because they are truly one of the easiest, no-brainer items which makes looking pulled together a complete breeze! I’m crushing hard on this deep maroon kimono. The floral print is so pretty and definitely gives off Fall & 70’s vibes. The length is longer and covers the bum, which makes it forgiving and majorly flattering. Kimonos can be dressed up or down and are great transitional pieces! This one will look so good with a basic white tee, leggings, and booties!
When adding pieces to my end of Summer/ early Fall lineup, I always consider price-point and versatility. Does anyone else live in a State where it can be 95 one day and then 75 the next?! Well here in the great state of Nebraska, our August/September/October weather is exactly like that. I feel like I’m always caught in the “I’m ready for Fall, yet it’s 90 degrees today!” mentality, so incorporating pieces that look like Fall but are Summer appropriate is how I get through these transitional months!
What are your go-to pieces that get you through the last few weeks of summer?!
