Hi friends and happy first day of October! Not to be too cliche, but I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers. Fall has officially arrived and I couldn’t be happier! The leaves are turning the most beautiful shades of gold and burgundy, the air is crisp but the sun is still warm, and pumpkin candles + pumpkin beer have invaded my home! Also, the Fall fashion inspo has been kicked into high gear and today I’m excited to share TWO super affordable looks from Village Pointe that you can easily mix ‘n match to create multiple outfits!
I used the same handbag and pair of mules for both looks, as I wanted to maximize my cost per wear and also show you two ways to style them – a more casual approach with jeans and flannel, and a more dressy-causal take with the denim skirt and fitted top! The two kinds of accessories in my closet that I wear a million times are definitely my purses and shoes. For me, these are generally the pieces I spend the most on, so I do my due diligence to ensure I’m adding items that can be styled endlessly, and I think this shoe & bag combo is the perfect match to my Fall outfits!
LOOK 1: STRIPED SHIRT + DENIM SKIRT
I was immediately drawn to this super cute denim skirt with slight distressing on the hem! A jean skirt is perfect for Fall because it can be worn with mules or booties, knee-high or over-the-knee boots, and heck, even white tennis shoes for a more casual look! This skirt is a steal at only $30 and can even be dressed up with tights, heels and/or flats for a casual office setting. I also hadn’t bought or styled a skirt in a hot minute, and thought there was no better season like Fall than to do that! This striped rib knit thermal is ultra soft and makes for the perfect layering piece. It has a snug fit but doesn’t cling, which is super important to me! I can’t wait to wear it under vests, sweaters, and jackets when the temps really start to cool down.
Now onto the accessories! If you’re an OG reader, then you probably remember the early days when I would mix leopard print with allllll kinds of patterns just about every single day. Over the years my style has evolved, but there’s nothing quite like leopard & stripes to get those sparks flying and my creative juices flowing! This duo also breaks the old rule of “you don’t wear brown with black.” I think it’s important to note that not all browns are created equal. I prefer tan, camel, and cognac hues, which all look fresh and modern, and also pair fabulously with black! The leopard belt sets the stage for my camel bag and shoes (both under $50!), making the outfit pop without looking jumbled or mismatched. There’s a big difference between mismatched and mix ‘n match!
And in case you didn’t hear, Kendra Scott has arrived at Village Pointe! I picked up these gorgeous statement earrings from her Fall collection. Between the bold colored feathers and gold accents, needless to say I’m OBSESSED! Have you been into the store yet? It’s a stunning space filled with the most beautiful pieces! You can read more about why Kendra Scott is a company you should support plus photos of her store HERE!

LOOK 2: PLAID TUNIC + STRETCH DENIM
Now let’s chat about these jeans because they’re legit the bomb.com! Holy moly guys, these babies are thee softest pair of jeans I’ve ever put on my body. They feel like jammies but fit like designer jeans. I’m sold! I like to cuff my jeans but when not cuffed, you can see they have an unfinished distressed hem, which is super on-trend this season! I really like the fact that other than the hem, there isn’t any rips, holes, or distressing, making them ideal for more casual meetings, networking events, and Jean Day at the office!
For this look I really wanted to play up the colors in my shirt, so I opted for these mixed marble and gold hoop earrings from Francesca’s! I also like that we’re kinda sorta pattern mixing with the plaid and the abstract marble print! This druzy Kendra Scott necklace is simple yet striking and I’ve been wearing it nonstop with the matching ring since I created the set at their Color Bar! I highly recommend you stopping into the store and trying out the Color Bar, it’s so fun but beware, it’s so hard to choose haha!
I found these sunglasses at Francesca’s and was so excited to share them with you girls because they totally remind me of Karen Walker shades, which run upwards of $300, but these tortoise brown ones are only $14! The fit is awesome and they go with practically everything in my closet; a win-win!
