Hi gals and happy Tuesday! I need to share an “oh, I’m getting old” moment. So, you know when your mom and older wise women in your life used to, or still do, say, “when I was 10 or when I was 16, that ___ was so in”… insert bell bottoms, platforms, etc. Well, I’m here to tell you the jean skirt trend that’s in full-force right now was so “in” when I was in junior high! My Lord, that makes me feel old. I mean I’ve officially lived long enough to see a trend come and go, and then come back, in which I’ve participated in both times! Another example of trying a trend twice in one lifetime is the choker trend. Yes, I totally rocked one in high school! Now I’m not saying I’m old, and this is not a “whoa is me” post. But it is crazy to see things come full circle! Which now I understand why my mom never got rid of those super flare jeans from when she was a teen! Some people hate trends due to their super classic and timeless style. Which I can totally understand! You have to stay true to you. But I definitely have more of an adventurous style and I’m willing (and excited) to step outside of my comfort zone! I’m not a huge fan of all the trends, but I can appreciate that they’re fleeting and are meant for us to have a little style fun! That’s why I love when I find stores & sites that allow me to dabble in the trends without breaking the bank. SheIn is always on top of the latest and greatest and offers fashionistas the chance to live in the moment without spending a mortgage payment!
I’ve been observing the denim skirt trend and definitely have a soft spot for it! I love the look of skirts with boots, and ever since getting these OTK boots for such a super steal (under $70!), I’ve been plotting all the ways I can style them! The moment I saw this skirt, I knew it was made for boots. I love pairing classic staple items, such as OTK boots, with fun trends, like this button up denim skirt, only $14! And to keep this look casual, I opted for a chunky knit sweater. But a fitted striped sweater would look awesome with this, too!
Another trend I would highly recommend you trying is the mini bag! I’m a big tote gal 99% of the time, but lately small bags have been stealing my heart. This green color is so pretty for Fall and Winter! There’s no commitment needed when trying your hand at this fun trend because this one is just under $15!
