Hi gals and happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine went way too fast! On Saturday I made my yummy California veggie pasta salad for a Husker Football party and spent the day with Tone, my parents, and family friends! You. Guys. This recipe makes the most delish, bombtastic salad and now that I’ve made it three times, I think I’ve got it down. Here is the recipe, but I’ve tweaked it a bit so I’ll be sharing my take on it in an upcoming blog post! On Sunday I recovered from the Husker party – I blame my dad on the Fireball shots – and slept in while taking my precious time to get my buns in gear. I then headed to my parents house for a fun filled afternoon of finalizing our wedding invite list! So not fun. Who wants to throw this amazing party and not be able to invite every single person you have ever loved in your life??? It’s tough when you have to cut the list! And then once that list is finalized so begins the daunting task of hunting down addresses. I’m proud to say that I haven’t had one freak-out, bridezilla moment since getting engaged in July 2015, but if I have to look at that excel sheet one more time, I will loose my sh*t. I had tons of things to tend to in order to prepare for a busy week, so spending four hours of my Sunday afternoon working on the list was not what I had in-mind! But, at least my parents are cool and golf was on, so it could have been worse 🙂
And as I prep for a jam packed work week, plus a few wedding meetings to attend, I’m so happy to have easy closet staples like this striped knit dress that I can just throw on and go! The temps are going to be in the low 70’s this week, which means I can finally wear some of my new favorite Fall goodies! It’s interesting to see how in just a few months since going from working a 9 to 5 office job to now working for myself, and from home, my style has really been leaning to comfort. And that can be a slippery slope! I mean, sometimes I’ll go days without wearing real pants. Leggings, you are my friend. So I’ve made a promise to myself that with the fresh start of a new month, that I will put forth more effort into my day to day attire! Plus the autumn season gives me so much energy and motivation to create fun and exciting outfits!
I’m *falling* hard for this striped little number because y’all, it is so soft! I love the length because it looks great with booties but can also be sassed up with OTK boots for a night out with the future hubby! And anything that looks cute with or without leggings is a win in my book. The criss-cross detail on the chest is all the rage right now and the multicolored stripes give this dress an unlimited amount of styling possibilities! Swap out the booties for nude lace up flats and throw on an olive green utility vest for work meetings if you’re in a casual setting. But if your office is more business than casual, just add tights, closed toe booties, and a jewel-toned blazer for a professional look!
