Hi friends and happy Sunday! How is your weekend going? I’m headed to my parents’ house for a pool day, even though it’s a bit cool and cloudy here, we’re still trying to make the most out of every Sunday we have left in Summer! Fall is just around the corner and since I’m not ready to say goodbye to swimsuits, Farmer’s Markets, sandals, and cold brew coffee; I’ve got a few hacks that help me hold onto Summer for just a bit longer. One of my favorite things about these transitional months is to wear cozy sweaters, duster cardigans, and kimonos that are “Fall-like” with cutoff shorts and jeans skirts! Because let’s face it, if you live in the midwest or down South, then you know it can get plenty hot in September & October, and you might even get a warm spell in December (Tony has played golf on December 1st before!), so we don’t really tuck away our transitional items until the snow falls. The short/skirt + sweater combo is ideal for a Friday date-night, college football tailgates on Saturdays, and then on Sunday for brunch on the patio! And to create more of a Fall vibe, simply swap the mules & wedges out for peep-toe booties! I just got this jean skirt and it’s taking me back to my junior high days! What do you think of the jean skirt trend? I’ve been trying to find the perfect one and I think I hit the jackpot with this little mini. The rips and distressing keeps it fresh & current, plus the shorter length shows off my legs! The length on this one is just right – I feel comfortable wearing it to run errands in sandals or sneakers while still feeling sexy in heels. And when you sit down your butt isn’t exposed! If you’re not a huge fan of jean shorts, then a denim skirt might be a great option for you. I think skirts of all types are universally flattering on women!
I love how this skirt looks with these bow mules (on sale and so comfy!) and my cozy cream pullover! It’s similar to the Free People version but it’s wayyyyyy cheaper – only $42! I wish you could feel how soft the material is. It’s probably the softest thing I own! It also comes in wine, black, and gray and I’m going back for the rich burgundy hue next. Aside from the price and coziness, I also love this pullover because you can style it so many different ways! Pair it with a denim skirt and mules, like I did here, or opt for sleek, ankle strap heels and boyfriend jeans for a laid-back yet effortlessly chic vibe. I’ve also worn it with black cutoff shorts and these bow mules! You girls know I’m all about versatility and a low cost per wear, and this top is it. Plus you can’t go wrong when supporting a small business and the woman behind the dream!
