Hi friends and happy Fri-YAY!!! I had such a busy week and can’t wait to lay low this weekend.  Aside from the Creighton Jays away game on Saturday afternoon, we don’t have any set plans and I couldn’t be happier about it!  Sunday marks five years since Tony’s sweet dad, Jeff, passed away; so we plan to take flowers to the cemetery and share our favorite stories in honor of his legacy!  Jeff was such a character and one of the most fun-loving people I ever had the pleasure of knowing.  Tony is just like his dad and I often thank Jeff for raising such a good human!  Even though this is a tough day for us and especially for Tony, we try to laugh more than we cry.  If you were lucky enough to have known Jeff, then you know he was always smiling and would not want us to mourn his loss, but rather share laughter and memories to keep his love & legacy alive!

Spring brings such a sense of renewal and hope, which helps tremendously when going through difficult moments in your life.  The other day I was letting the boys out for their morning potty and I heard birds chirping and my heart was instantly lifted!  That morning I woke up on the wrong side of the bed and didn’t get much sleep the night before, and I started to work up excuses in my head as to why I “couldn’t” make my workout, but the sound of those birds singing their sweet morning song completely changed my spirit.  If Jeff’s passing and the recent loss of my own loved one has taught me anything, it is to make every day count and be thankful for the gift that is life!  March is the month where the sun seems to shine a little warmer, the grass turns a little greener, and all the creatures come out to play and I truly look forward to this fresh breath of life every year!  I don’t hate winter by any means, but Spring and Summer most certainly have my heart.

Spring also renews my love for color and bold prints!  I’ve shared quite a few times here on the blog that I go through a bit of a style rut once we get into the thick of Fall and Winter.  While browns, tans, blacks, grays, and olive hues work well for many a’people, they just don’t make my heart go pitter patter, and therefor I struggle with what to wear during these months!  It’s probably a blessing that I don’t live in a warmer, tropical climate because my bank account gets a rest from November-March haha.  But now that Spring is on the horizon, the shopping has commenced and my color-lovin’ heart is happy!

It’s no secret that florals are great for Spring #leduh, but lately I’ve been crushing on stripes for the season!  I love these soft yet punchy pastel hues and the different size stripes make this swing tunic such a fun little number.  The cross front detail is an added twist and the length of this tunic is perfect for leggings and boots if it’s still a tad bit chilly where you live.  These kinds of tops are fabulous for layering under moto and bomber jackets!  And with so many pretty colors to play-on in the print, it can be styled a variety of different ways to create multiple looks.  Edge it up with black accessories and ripped jeans, like I did here or go girly glam with nude pumps, dark wash skinny jeans, and a suede jacket with feminine cross body purse, like this or this!
