Hey gals and happy Monday! This weekend we were blessed with some beautiful mild Nebraska weather – low 80’s & no humidity, so good – and I jumped at the chance to wear this black & white and floral combo! Pretty much all of my personal fashion & style dreams came true when God made this kimono! I absolutely love the bright colorful floral pattern. Even though it’s light & vibrant and has warm weather vibes, I really liked how it paired with black denim and a basic white tank, because it will totally work in the Fall! Especially with the pop of leopard in the heels and the classic structured year-round bag. I don’t know what it is about kimonos and long shawls, but I could twirl and twirl all day long! Kimonos are so easy to throw on and go. Little thought is required, which I totally appreciate. Their shape and cut is flowy and easy breezy so you don’t need to do much to dress them up!
They also look great thrown over a LBD (little black dress), which is exactly what I plan to wear for a women’s conference & live event that I’m attending this weekend! Side Note – if you are looking for an inspirational event, check out the BELONG Tour and see if there is one scheduled near you. I’m personally in-need of rejuvenation and some purposeful direction so I cannot wait to attend! Ok back to the kimono at hand 🙂 —- Sometimes it’s hard to dress for the summer heat when you know you’ll be inside all day. Naturally I want to grab my coziest sweater and leggings, but then you get those weird looks the moment you step outside and you start to sweat your buns off. Just another reason why I love kimonos – they are great layering pieces and make you feel pulled together! I have a black maxi dress that I recently got for a super steal and plan to wear that, along with this kimono and nude wedges to the conference. Comfy enough to wear for sitting all day, but cute enough for post-event dinner & drinks!
