Hi friends and happy Tuesday! How was your weekend?  As most of you know, I was asked to be the Keynote Speaker at the Go Blog Social conference and to share my story from working for the man to working for myself, which was a total pinch me moment!  So Michelle and I traveled to Des Moines, IA on Friday afternoon and drove home on Saturday evening.  It was such a great experience and I’m very thankful for that opportunity.  I’ll be doing a full post on what I wore, where we stayed, what I learned, and about the entire experience as a whole!

I also was finally able to wear and shoot this gorgeous blush and floral blouse that I purchased from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale a couple months ago!  Unfortunately it’s no longer available – dang it! – but I did some research and found options for blush blouses and  floral blouses that I think are budget friendly and very cute for Fall, so read on!  Ok so back to this outfit.  I loved this top the minute it arrived but was at a loss as to how to style it.  Reminder that I bought it at the end of July, which means it was still hotter than you now what in Nebraska, so wearing a long sleeve blouse was a bit out of the wardrobe equation!  But then just as it does every year, the temperate dropped a smudge and we’ve been experiencing mild weather!  I had plans to wear this top with black denim and nude pumps for a snazzy date night, but also thought that it would look cute with shorts, too!  The blouse is very feminine because of the material, cut & fit, color, and print, which made it fun to pair with uber casual frayed jean shorts.  I love a good outfit juxtaposition!

I also broke out of my style comfort zone and opted for these black pointed toe ankle boots!  I rarely, if ever, wear black shoes because I think it makes me look even shorter than I am.  And it’s no secret that nude, gray, and blush shoes make your legs look longer, which is why 99.9% of the time I lean towards those hues!  But something was telling me to break out the black.  And to balance out the black on my feet, I added a black suede long choker to draw the black upwards, providing some elongation.  And chokers make your neck and collarbones look so slim!  Throw on a basic black pair of sunglasses and a neutral bag, and you are good to go for a day of fun with friends, family, or your boo!  After we shot this look, Michelle and I met our friend Sarah for sushi HH at our favorite spot and I felt perfectly dressed for the occasion!

PS – I’m headed to Vegas tomorrow for my Bachelorette Party with my girls and I cannot wait!  So I apologize in advance for the silence that may be happening on ze blog this week!
