So. Much. Snow. I can’t believe this white scene was from just two weeks ago! And it’s crazy to think that tomorrow’s high is 64 and sunny! Mother nature, get it together already. But I’m not complaining. I am so ready for warmer temps and sunshine. Not to mention that I have a nice little Spring line-up that I am just dying to bust out! But I’m not packing away my winter gear just yet because until I’m wearing a bikini and sippin’ a tasty marg poolside, snow is always a possibility here in the midwest! And though we may be cold, that doesn’t mean we can’t be cute & stylish! These pieces (vest, Hunter boots, pink sweater, liquid leggings) can be worked, and re-worked, for many a looks!
First up, the classic, and oh-so-coveted J.Crew Herringbone vest. This vest took over Instagram and fashion blogs around the world when it made it’s debut a few years ago! I missed out the first season and knew I couldn’t make that mistake again, so I pulled the trigger and paid full price. Did it crush a tiny bit of my soul? Yes. Now, three years later, was it worth every penny? Yes. I have worn it so many ways, with the most recent being to Happy Hour after the gym! Throw the vest on with a cute scarf, and boom, instant polish over an otherwise very sweaty ensemble! Almost identical versions here and here!
Hunter Boots – from every color for every outfit, these rubber gems can be styled numerous ways! They are very practical, which is great, but that doesn’t mean practical can’t be pretty! These boots come in a wide array of colors and every year, I am tempted to add to my collection! These can be worn with leggings, sweaters, and layers of winter wear, sure. But they can also be paired with skirts! I promise, it’s cute! Picture a mid-thigh skater skirt, a chambray button down and some darling boot socks! And that look is perfect for those warmer Spring days when it’s rainy but not cold. You see, practical yet cute!
TIP – if you have smaller feet (I’m a 5.5/6 in women’s sizes) then try getting yours in the kids section! I ordered both of my pairs from Nordstrom.com in the big kids sizes!
This pink sweater was made for me! It’s long enough to wear with leggings (no bare bum here!), it has a great textured basket weave (definitely not boring!), is the most beautiful brilliant shade of pink, and the price is just right! This Vince Camuto sweater was originally $89 and is now on sale for under $38! You just can’t beat that price for such a great designer sweater. And this sweater will be taken right on into spring with ripped boyfriend jeans and nude heels!
Flattering AND Affordable Faux Leather Liquid Leggings. You guys. I have had the hardest time finding a great fitting pair of faux leather leggings that didn’t break the bank – I was not going to spend $100 on leggings. That goes against every fiber of my being. $100 on shoes? Yes. $100 on a bag? Hell yes. $100 on leggings? No. Then the heavens parted and Jess Lea Boutique came out with these bad boys and my year has been made. And it’s only February! And they’re high-waisted, to boot. So much goodness happening! So take it from me, and buy them in multiples and be sure to use the SABBYSTYLE discount code for a treat!
