Hi friends and happy Monday! How was your weekend? On Friday I had coffee with my ItWorks! sister, Charissa, and after a couple hours of friendship, fellowship, and financial freedom, my love cup was overflowing! And the day was just getting started. Then I met Michelle for some afternoon pool time, which was so needed and my first time to the pool this year! After a few hours of soaking up the Vitamin D, we decided it was time for sushi Happy Hour, so we went to Kona and enjoyed veggie rolls, edamame, and a cold glass of Rose`! The Omaha Summer Arts Festival was taking place downtown, and since I had no plans, I decided to tag along with Michelle and her parents and we had such a great time checking out all of the local artists, live music, and of course, some really awesome people watching haha. We then topped the night off with a little live music and dancing – talk about the perfect day!
Due to my long and fun Friday day and night, I was moving a little slow on Saturday haha, which actually worked out because I had to wait on the mailman for a signed delivery. Did you see my new bag on my Insta Stories? It was Louie at first sight! Saturday evening Tone and I went out for a quick minute and then settled in for Orange is the New Black! Does anyone else watch? What do you think so far? We’re three episodes in and I’m feeling kind of meh about it. So we’ll see! On Sunday, Tone played golf and I got a ton of housework and blog work done, which was just what I needed! As much as I love to play and have Sunday Funday, sometimes it’s good to adult and prep for the upcoming week! It was also like 98 degrees yesterday, so it was either go to the pool or stay inside. And since my parents’ pool is under construction at the moment, being indoors it was!
A couple weeks ago, I asked for blog post/content suggestions and one topic that consistently was requested was to incorporate more work wear pieces! Since quitting my day job almost one year ago, my wardrobe has definitely shifted, as I’m not purchasing skirts, slacks, and jackets nearly as much as I used to. Those things used to take up a big part of my shopping budget! But because I work from home, I definitely live in comfortable jeans and shorts (heck, pajamas and leggings!) but realize that many of you are hustling in that 9-5 grind, so I apologize for neglecting that area of fashion! One item that I swear by, no matter what field, position, or office you work in, is a great fitting and interesting blazer or jacket. When I saw my girlfriend Shelby wearing this printed jacket, I knew I had to make it mine. It’s only $8 and I wasn’t too sure how it would fit or what the quality would be, but after wearing it twice, I can 1000% say that this jacket should be wayyyy more than eight bucks and every girl needs it in her closet! I styled it with white leggings and a flowy tank, as this is what I would wear to a meeting with a client or to dinner with Tone, but this jacket would look SO GOOD with a darling pair of pixie pants, a pencil skirt, or a nice pair of dark wash jeans! It’s super light weight, which makes it perfect for the office in Summer, chilly evenings, or cold restaurants & bars. I can’t wait to wear it with gladiator sandals and cutoff shorts for a little happy hour date or brunch!
For size reference, I’m wearing a Medium in the jacket. It also said it would take 4-6 weeks to ship, but it arrived within 3 weeks!
