Hi friends and happy Wednesday! How is your week going so far? 4th of July is just 6 days away and I mentioned in this post that while I love to wear patriotic ensembles, I also don’t like to spend money on items that I can only wear one day out of the year aka flag tanks and tees. And I’m not hating on those things, it’s just that I truly believe in cost-per-wear and I know that I won’t wear them enough to justify spending the moolah! So I look for items that I can not only wear for those special holidays, but as well as all season long! Just like the red, white, and blue floral tunic I styled last week, this gorgeous one shoulder ruffle top is also a great option for the upcoming holiday weekend! Until this year, the only red I ever wore was on my Husker Football t-shirts or the rare Christmas sweater. I don’t know why, but I’ve always reserved the color red for Game Days and December 25th! Well all that changed when I got this little red dress seen here. I was super unsure about it and never thought red was a good color on me!
But after getting so many sweet compliments on not only the dress, but also on how well the color suited me, I decided to take those to heart and to add more red to my wardrobe. Thanks girlfriends! So when I saw this sassy salsa red top, I knew I had to share it with you girls! I just LOVE the ruffle detail and the embroidered flowers are so so pretty! I’m definitely going to wear this over the holiday weekend because it has beautiful touches of blue and white in the flowers, but doesn’t scream “It’s the 4th of July”. This top has more of a tunic length, which I like because I’m not the biggest fan of crop tops… hey, #imnot21anymore ha! And I really like rocking a front tuck to show off the pants or shorts I’m wearing still while covering the bum area! I’m hoping it’s going to be toasty this weekend (it’s been unseasonably cool here in Omaha!), because I plan to swap out the jeans for my favorite pair of cutoff shorts and ditch the heels for gladiator sandals!
