Hi babes and happy Thursday! This week has flown by and I do apologize for being a bit m.i.a. – I’ve been traveling and playing catch up since getting home on Monday. I was in Washington D.C. last weekend with my girlfriends Kelssey & Cortney (blog post from my trip coming soon!) and much to my surprise, it was quite nice and mild there! I brought my new winter coat and didn’t event pull it out of my suitcase. I was hoping that those mild temps would be waiting for me in Omaha, but it’s official, winter weather has arrived here. And that has me reaching for all of my favorite cozy sweaters, and this yellow number is currently at the top of my sweater pile! As evident from my Instagram, yellow is one of my favorite colors to wear and I definitely wear yellow all year long, from Spring to Summer and into Fall & Winter. Because who says you have to leave your favorite bright colors behind once cold weather rolls in?!? Are you unsure how to wear bold colors in the Winter? Simply swap out the neon hues for primary shades, like this marigold sweater!
Here are my top 3 reasons as to why I love & highly recommend this sweater…
– The Perfect V-Neck: I prefer v-neck sweaters & tops but cannot stand when they dip super low! For one, I’m not trying to show the goods to everyone and two, it’s stinking cold outside, which means I’m trying to cover up and not bare my chest! This sweater hits at just the right spot.
– Medium Weight Waffle Knit: I’m all for thick, chunky sweaters, but they are difficult to wear under coats! THat’s why I opt for light to medium weight sweaters because I can easily layer them under denim and Moto jackets, as well as my winter coats! This fabric is soft & cozy but doesn’t easily snag, which is very important when wearing watches, bracelets, and necklaces!
– High/Low Cut with Side Slits: I, for one, am just not interested in wearing real pants every day, which is why tunic length sweaters are clutch! I love that I can do a front tuck when wearing it with jeans, but it’s long enough in the front & back to wear with leggings, too!
I snagged this yellow sweater from one of my favorite boutiques, Anna Kayte’s, and you can check out more posts featuring their darling items here, here, here, and here!
