Hi friends and hello from Mazatlan! Tony and I landed in Mexico on Sunday afternoon and I must apologize for my silence here on SS, as we’ve been unplugged (minus “The Stories” as T calls it) and we’re enjoying some sweet alone, one-on-one, time! But as much as I want to slip into my Mexicoma, I know that for the rest of you babes, it’s very much Fall, so I definitely have to share this gorgeous mustard peplum top!
I am having a major yellow moment for Fall — heck, I love it all year round — but I’m one happy camper that it’s trending big time for Fall! I’ve shared a time or two that I struggle when it comes to Fall fashion because you know I love allllll the bright and bold colors, so when Fall rolls around, it’s hard for me to embrace the darker neutrals and earth tones. So imagine how happy I was to see that bold, primary colors trending for Fall! This mustard yellow top is perfect for Autumn for many a’reasons, including…
– This shade of yellow goes with black, brown, olive, and your favorite white jeans (as see here) and pairs well with a variety of other cold colors – like this velvet cobalt blue bag!
– I love peplum tops, and this top has the longer hem in the back, which means you can wear it with jeans and leggings!
– The dark jewel tone floral print is so beautiful, and you can pull a variety of these colors out with different bags and jewelry! This statement necklace is literally the most perfect match for this top! I’ve been on a big statement earring kick lately but I fell in love with this necklace from 7 Charming Sisters. The rope keeps the necklace from being too heavy, which is super important, especially if you wear your necklaces for long periods of time, like for a 9-5 job! The blue beads and tan tassels are a seamless fit for this top and draw out the dark blue and turquoise hues from the top, basically making it a match made in heaven! Plus this necklace is an extra 15% off with code SARAS15, making this necklace just $22! Note – this exact necklace is currently sold out, but here is a great option for this look!
– The yellow peplum compliments these tan booties so well! I’ve been on the hunt for the right pair of brown/tan pointed-toe booties (because the pointy toe makes your legs look longer!) and I FINALLY found them! These boots looks great with all of my jeans, as well as leggings, and I know I’ll be getting a ton of wear out of them all Fall and Winter long!
– This gorgeous peplum floral top is only $13! Yes, you are reading that right! I love SheIn for many reasons, but one of them being that they always have the most on-trend, and affordable clothes that I don’t feel guilty nor have to explain to Tone why a big package arrived at our door ha!
Peplum Top – $13 – c/o SheIn // White Jeans – $75 + Free Shipping // Velvet Bag – $250 + Free Shipping // Booties – $175 + Free Shipping // Necklace (sold out) Another great option for this outfit – 15% off with code SARAS15 – c/o 7 Charming Sisters // Sunglasses – $55 + Free Shipping // Earrings

Hi babes and happy Tuesday! I apologize for being a bit m.i.a. on the blog lately; I’ve been busy prepping for our upcoming vacation and I’ve also had lots of work to-do’s & fun events, as well! I’m pleased to report that for once in my life I feel prepared for our trip and much to my surprise, I did not procrastinate when it came to buying swimsuits. Usually I’m scouring the internet 3 or 4 days before we leave and end up paying outrageous fees for overnight shipping. Case-in-point… my honeymoon. Between being in the middle of winter and planning a wedding, I definitely put swimsuits and cute beach coverups on the back burner. Plus it can be hard to transition your thought process from Fall & sweater weather to swimsuits & sandals. But this time around, I’m on top of it! I can’t wait to show you girls all of the fabulous suits, sandals, and accessories I bought for this trip, so be sure to follow along on my Instagram & Stories starting this Sunday!
I’m not complaining when I say this, because I cannot wait to spend 18 days in the sun & sand with my sweet husband, but I am a little bummed that we’re leaving right in the heart of Fall! Mother Nature finally got the memo that Summer is over and sweater weather has just arrived, so it’s a little bittersweet having to put my Fall lineup on hold! That’s why when I first got this pink ombre sweater a few weeks ago when it was still warm outside, I immediately wore it haha. If sweater weather won’t come to you, you fake it! You girls know my love for all things pink, so this was naturally a match made in fashion heaven. I adore the ombre stripes AND that it’s longer in the back! Which means you can cozy this sweater up with leggings and your favorite booties or boots! This sweater is the ideal medium weight, making it a must-have piece for Fall and Winter. And if those warmer temps are still hanging around where you live, do as I did and style it with your favorite white jeans or jean shorts! The dark and light pink stripes pop against the crisp white. One of my favorite combos is to pair sweaters with cutoff shorts, so please do it for me if it’s still toasty warm where you live! As I mentioned earlier, this sweater has a tunic feel with the longer hem in the back, which makes it very forgiving and will easily camouflage all those pumpkin bars and pumpkin beers lol! It’s perfectly oversized and still has a nice shape without being too snug or too baggy. Which is much appreciated, especially since I’ll be trying to shed those vacation indulgences!
NOTE – it does run quite big, as I’m wearing a Small with plenty of room to spare and I’m not mad about it ha!

Hi friend and happy Humpday! How is your week going so far? Despite the horrific tragedy that took place in Vegas on Monday and how heavy my heart has been, it also served as a great reminder to hug, love, and spend time with the ones that mean the most. And I did just that. I cooked one of Tony and I’s favorite meals and we laid pretty low Monday and Tuesday. There was no better time to hammer out my to-do list and to take care of business, because life is just too short and tomorrow is never a guarantee!
Life is also too short not to mix patterns! Dramatic? Maybe. But honestly, mixing prints is one of my favorite things to do and is one of the founding themes of this blog! When I worked a 9-5, I was notorious for pairing leopard with stripes, polka dots with plaid, and florals with gingham! Since leaving my nonprofit career to take Sabby Style full time in June of 2016, I noticed I haven’t been mixing as much as I used to. So when I put this casual look together, I immediately felt like my old, but best, self!
You might think that mixing prints looks cute on me but “you can’t do it” or you don’t know where to start, so you just admire from afar. But I’m here to tell you that YOU CAN ROCK THOSE PRINTS, girl! And here’s how…
2. Pair Two Bold Prints. If you’re worried about mixed prints creating a “busy” look, then opt for two bold, large prints. The stripes on my shirt are large and the leopard print of the clutch is also large, which helps these two prints stand out without having to compete for the eye’s attention.
3. Pair a Printed Item of Clothing with a Printed Accessory. Since the clutch is an add on to this outfit, it creates space from the striped top. I personally love to print mix with tops and bottoms, but that can be daunting if you’re new to this. So starting with one article of clothing and an accessory, like a bag, belt, or shoes, is a great way to dip your toe into the print mixing world!
Not down for pattern mixing but love to wear prints? That’s okay, too! My oversized striped tunic is such a steal for only $24 from Fancy Frills Boutique! Plus, you can take an additional 20% off with code sabbystyle20!

Hi sweet friends! Before we dive into today’s post, I first want to take a moment to express my deepest sympathies for everyone affected by the heinous mass shooting that occurred in Las Vegas last night. My heart breaks for the victims and their loved ones and I’m sending all of my love and prayers.
And while there’s no great way to segue into this post, I do think it’s incredibly important to make the most out of each and every day, and last night’s tragedy is another reminder of this. I’m guilty of putting things off and saying “tomorrow”and it’s a habit that I need to kick. Who else can relate?! One of my tricks for staying on track when life gets busy is to keep a little notebook with me in my purse. You know when you’re laying in bed at night and your running through your mental to-do list, or your stopped at a red light and a great idea pops into your head, or you remember you need to pay your Nordstrom bill (oh, is that just me?), and you swear to yourself that you won’t forget, but you inevitably do? That happens to me all the time! So to combat the case of the lost thoughts, I rely on my handy Moleskine notebook, ensuring I get everything down on paper. No matter where you are, you can jot down your brilliant ideas or to-do’s!
One of my professional goals for this year was to diversify my blog content and writing down those goals & post ideas definitely helps keep me in-check and on-track! Of course fashion and style posts will always be the back bone of Sabby Style, but there’s so much more to life (and me) than just cute and affordable clothes. So over the next few months, you can expect to see the following…
– My favorite Planner and How I Stay Organized
– The Dry Shampoo Test
– Our stay at Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay in Mexico

Hi sweet friends and TGIF! Who’s ready for the weekend? This girl sure is! Fall weather has arrived and I couldn’t be happier. It’s been low 70’s and sunny the past few days and if I had to choose my ideal day, that would definitely be it! I tend to get into a style rut when Fall rolls around because I hate to leave behind my favorite bright colors, but this year, bold and vibrant colors like pink, yellow, and red are trending big time and I’m loving it! I’ve said it a few times that up until recently I wasn’t the biggest fan of red. Growing up in Nebraska and coming from a family of die hard Husker fans, I’ve always reserved the color red for Saturday game days and Gilden t-shirts. But a few months ago I styled a gorgeous red ruffle dress and the feedback from you girls was so sweet and you all agreed that red was a good color on me. And since y’all are super smart and I 100% trust your opinion, I decided that I needed to add more shades of red into my lineup!
I started by purchasing these sassy red bow mules! I first grabbed them in the nude/blush version and loved them so much that I went back for these. I was worried that they wouldn’t be comfortable because the heel height is a bit tall, but I was so wrong! They are a soft material, are well made, and the thicker block heels makes walking a breeze! The bow detail brings some interest and pizzazz and the open-toe makes them a great transitional shoe!
A few weeks ago I was out shopping for more red to add to my wardrobe, and I was happy as a lark when I found this pretty floral tunic at EVEREVE! Some people reserve floral prints only for Spring but I’m here to tell you that florals are appropriate for Fall, too! Especially when it includes one of the season’s hottest colors – Red! This tunic is super light weight, making it ideal for these early Fall months. I’m a huge fan of long tops because you get so much more versatility and outfit options with them! You can wear it with shorts (see below), you can wear them with leggings and OTK boots and/or peep-toe booties, and of course tunics and white jeans are a match made in heaven! And when it starts to cool down, add a jean or Moto jacket on top for easy and chic layers!
I attended the VIP pre-party for the grand opening of the new EVEREVE store at Village Pointe and oh my goodness, I wanted to buy everything! Are you girls familiar with EVEREVE? They carry all of my favorite brands; such as Free People, Articles of Society, Z Supply, and so much more! It has quickly become one of my favorite stores and I’m so excited that I can shop their fabulous items at Village Pointe. Tony and I do a ton of our shopping, dining, and adulting at Village Pointe and now I have another “excuse” to spend my free time there!
