Floral Tunic for 4th of July + Gucci Bag Giveaway

img_1152img_1154img_1139img_1150Photography by Kye Image

Hi friends and happy Friday!  Can you even believe that the 4th of July holiday weekend is already next week?!  Where the heck did June go?  How are you doing on your monthly goals?  I shared mine here and a lot of you expressed that you liked seeing those kinds of posts, so I plan to share my goals with you each month!  I would love to hear yours, too!  I definitely need to work out more, but am happy to report that I haven’t shopped at all this month and I’ve been waking up earlier more than in the past.  So there’s progress happening!  Slowly but surely, right?

So what do you girls have planned for the long holiday weekend?  For us, we typically spend the entire weekend over at my parents’ house because their backyard is party central!  They have a great pool, surround sound and outdoor speakers, a volleyball net, basketball hoop, and water slide, plus my dad is a Master Griller, and I like to mix up big batches of patriotic adult beverages.  Everyone brings amazing food to share and you can always count on a very completive game of HORSE going down in the pool.  It’s so easy to get wrapped up in your daily routine and feel bogged down from work stressors, which is why it’s even more important to be sure we’re carving out time for fun, friendship, fellowship, and of course, good food!

And because there’s lots of eating that happens this weekend, you better believe I’ll be living in this red, white, and blue floral tunic from Impressions Boutique!  You girls know I preach versatility and how important it is when you are adding new items to your wardrobe, and this tunic fits the bill for so many reasons!  First, I love the vibrant and patriotic floral print.  I really like this one in particular because it’s undercover patriotic haha.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for flag tanks and tees, but I don’t like to buy things I can only wear one day out of the year!  So if you’re like me, then opt for a pretty print that has red, white, and blue and then you can get multiple wears out of it, long after the holiday weekend passes!  Everything in the Impressions Boutique 4th of July Collection blends the perfect mix of classic American Girl vibes while staying on-trend and current!  Second, I love the length of this tunic because I can wear it with white leggings (like I did here), tucked into cutoff jean shorts (like I did last weekend), AND it can be used as a swimsuit coverup!  And third, this pretty floral frock is only $33 with code SARASAB!  I like to splurge on things like bags and shoes, but I prefer affordable tops, especially for Summertime, since they take a beating with the heat, sun, and sweat!

Impressions Boutique offers gorgeous pieces at super reasonable prices and they even have their own exclusive label, Meritt Clothing, and I kindaaaaa want one of everything in that line haha.  I mean, who can say no to beautiful florals, prints, and stunning colors… be still my heart!  Be sure to check out their new collection for Summer, you won’t be mad you did!

The Perfect $35 Dress for Summer Weddings & Events

img_9684img_9680img_9681img_9685img_9682

Photography by Kye Image

Hi friends and happy Thursday!  Summer is officially here and that means wedding season is in full swing!  I don’t know about you, but sometimes I struggle with what to wear as a guest to a wedding, especially in the Summer.  For one, I think of most weddings to be fancy/formal occasions (unless specifically noted on the invite), so I don’t feel super comfortable or appropriate wearing a sleeveless dress.  Secondly, I’m always cold inside when the A/C is on blast, so no sleeves equals a very chilly gal with the cloth napkin over her shoulders!  Third, knowing what length of dress is wedding-appropriate can be tricky.  Of course you want to feel sexy & classy, just as you would for any other occasion or event, and for me, I like to show off my legs.  But there’s a fine line between just right and showing too much!  And lastly, finding the right color can be a challenge, as well.  I personally don’t wear much black.  In fact, I only have one black dress and it’s a long sleeve maxi with a mini skirt underneath, which is perfect for Fall/Winter weddings!  But there’s no way in heck I would wear that to a Summer wedding.  I also love the color white and could live in white dresses all Summer long!  But I’m pretty sure the bride would not appreciate that outfit choice.  Side Note – I think you can wear a white dress or romper with florals/stripes/etc. to a wedding.  I would just avoid an all white/cream ensemble!

In an effort to be prepared and to make sure I’m not scrambling last minute trying to figure out what to wear to a wedding this Summer, I picked out this pretty blue lace dress from The Basement Boutique!  I’m beyond obsessed with this soft pastel shade of blue and think it looks great on every skin tone.  One of my favorite color combos to wear is blue and yellow, so naturally I added my favorite yellow pumps (only $30!) and floral clutch, but this dress would also look wonderful with nude and blush tones!  The feminine crochet overlay is just the right amount of understated and dainty detail, but definitely makes a total statement!  And I’ve said it time and time again that off-the-shoulder tops and dresses look good on everyone!  I love that this dress has sleeves that go down to my elbows, so I won’t be shivering and the length is just right, too.   A good rule of thumb if you’re wondering whether a dress is too short for a wedding or event – put your hands to your side and if you feel skin, then it’s probably too short.  So save that little frock for a date night or dancing with the girls!

And for all of my brides-to-be, I’m so jealous that I didn’t find this dress when I was engaged!  It would be perfect for your bridal shower or the rehearsal dinner!  I guess I’ll have to live vicariously through y’all and just wear mine to weddings and to Sunday mass!

The Basement Boutique not only has the most darling dresses, but their price-points are unbeatable!  Plus my Sabby Style gal pals can get an additional 15% off, making this dress just $35 with code SABBY15!

Hi friends and happy Friday eve!  How was your week?  It was a hot one all week here in Omaha so I hunkered down and got a lot of work done, though I wish I would have had some pool time!  I can’t wait for my parents’ pool liner to get repaired so I can start working from their pool and having afternoon cocktails with my mom!  This weekend marks the start to the College World Series and I’m so excited!  Do you watch the Series on tv or have you ever been to a game here in Omaha?!  I have always loved baseball and have the fondest memories of going to the CWS!  I would live for Summer break and going to the CWS games with my family.  And of course as a young adult, it’s also fun to hit up the tailgates and local bars that are the hot spots for all the CWS fans and attendees.  It’s such a fun event for people of all ages because it’s the Greatest Show on Dirt!  Tony and I are going to head downtown for the festivities on Saturday and I can’t wait!

It’s going to be super hot and pretty much everything is outside (unless you have those club VIP passes, hollaaa!) so dressing cool and comfy is key to looking cute and appropriate for being at the Series and doing lots of walking.  And since I’m not your typical unisex t-shirt kind of gal, I plan to wear this super fun flutter sleeve top with the cutest pom pom details!  I’ll pair it with high waisted cutoff shorts, throw my hair in a high pony, and swap the heels for gladiator sandals, and boom, you have the perfect outfit for walking, talking, and beer drinking 🙂  I love the flutter sleeve trend that is happening right now and have been adding them to my closet with rapid fire haha.  Plus I couldn’t resist these sassy white pom poms.  They’re the perfect touch for dressing up a gray tee!

For size reference, I’m wearing a Medium in the tee and it’s only $27 with code sabby from Anna Kayte’s Boutique!

What do you girls have planned for Father’s Day?  Tony and I are treating my parents to one of Omaha’s best and oldest restaurants, the Drover, for a delicious steak dinner!  I’m already craving their button mushrooms and a tasty glass of red wine.  And I’ll be wearing this easy breezy maxi dress!

Hi friends and happy Monday!  How was your weekend?  On Friday I had coffee with my ItWorks! sister, Charissa, and after a couple hours of friendship, fellowship, and financial freedom, my love cup was overflowing!  And the day was just getting started.  Then I met Michelle for some afternoon pool time, which was so needed and my first time to the pool this year!  After a few hours of soaking up the Vitamin D, we decided it was time for sushi Happy Hour, so we went to Kona and enjoyed veggie rolls, edamame, and a cold glass of Rose`!  The Omaha Summer Arts Festival was taking place downtown, and since I had no plans, I decided to tag along with Michelle and her parents and we had such a great time checking out all of the local artists, live music, and of course, some really awesome people watching haha.  We then topped the night off with a little live music and dancing – talk about the perfect day!

Due to my long and fun Friday day and night, I was moving a little slow on Saturday haha, which actually worked out because I had to wait on the mailman for a signed delivery.  Did you see my new bag on my Insta Stories? It was Louie at first sight!  Saturday evening Tone and I went out for a quick minute and then settled in for Orange is the New Black!  Does anyone else watch?  What do you think so far? We’re three episodes in and I’m feeling kind of meh about it.  So we’ll see!  On Sunday, Tone played golf and I got a ton of housework and blog work done, which was just what I needed!  As much as I love to play and have Sunday Funday, sometimes it’s good to adult and prep for the upcoming week!  It was also like 98 degrees yesterday, so it was either go to the pool or stay inside.  And since my parents’ pool is under construction at the moment, being indoors it was!

A couple weeks ago, I asked for blog post/content suggestions and one topic that consistently was requested was to incorporate more work wear pieces!  Since quitting my day job almost one year ago, my wardrobe has definitely shifted, as I’m not purchasing skirts, slacks, and jackets nearly as much as I used to.  Those things used to take up a big part of my shopping budget!  But because I work from home, I definitely live in comfortable jeans and shorts (heck, pajamas and leggings!) but realize that many of you are hustling in that 9-5 grind, so I apologize for neglecting that area of fashion!  One item that I swear by, no matter what field, position, or office you work in, is a great fitting and interesting blazer or jacket.  When I saw my girlfriend Shelby wearing this printed jacket, I knew I had to make it mine.  It’s only $8 and I wasn’t too sure how it would fit or what the quality would be, but after wearing it twice, I can 1000% say that this jacket should be wayyyy more than eight bucks and every girl needs it in her closet!  I styled it with white leggings and a flowy tank, as this is what I would wear to a meeting with a client or to dinner with Tone, but this jacket would look SO GOOD with a darling pair of pixie pants, a pencil skirt, or a nice pair of dark wash jeans!  It’s super light weight, which makes it perfect for the office in Summer, chilly evenings, or cold restaurants & bars.  I can’t wait to wear it with gladiator sandals and cutoff shorts for a little happy hour date or brunch!

For size reference, I’m wearing a Medium in the jacket.  It also said it would take 4-6 weeks to ship, but it arrived within 3 weeks!

$24 Floral Lace OTS Top with Zipper Back

Hi friends and happy Sunday!  I know, a rare Sunday post, but I just couldn’t wait until tomorrow to share this look with you all!  This past week was a doozy, lemme tell ya…. so I barely had time to get much desk work done and my blog posts were a little neglected.  There’s been lots happening and I’m so excited for a new endeavor that I’ve taken on!  I’m not quite ready to share… just yet!

So in the mean time, let’s chat about this gorgy lace off-the-shoulder top!  I think it’s safe to say that I have a major crush on all things OTS, one shoulder, and cold shoulder and I love that this trend is not going anywhere, anytime soon.  I don’t necessarily loooooove my upper arms, but hated that all I was wearing last Summer was t-shirts, letting my insecurities hold me back.  So I vowed to basically get over my ish and break out of my white v-neck tee box!  Enter a plethora of sassy tops for Summer, like this pretty pink number from The Basement Boutique!  I actually have a dress in this multi color lace fabric, so when I saw it in a shirt version, it took me about .2 seconds to snag it!  The mix of pink, yellow, and green is so fresh and bright.  I’ve shared quite a few times that I adore ruffle and scallop hems, and I love how the lace doesn’t stop at a blunt cut, but drapes down, giving it an extra feminine touch.  The backside zipper gives you some versatility as to how much bum and back you want to show off, while also allowing you to adjust the fit.  Because sometimes you go to brunch with it fully zipped and leave with it half unzipped haha!  #foodbabiesarereal

I plan to wear this lovely lace cutie next with my go-to white skinny jeans and pink mules, so be sure to stalk my Insta to see that!

To help you on sizing, I’m wearing a Medium and believe it runs TTS.  Also, my girlfriends can take an extra 15% off with shopping code SABBY15, which makes this OTS top only $24!
